So should those who entered our country illegally jump ahead of those trying to get here by doing it properly and legally? Or get in the back of the line of those trying to do it legally?
After all,,,there is a price to be paid. ;)
The issue I have is that "we" (the US) invited them to come in illegally, welcomed them, gave them benefits, etc.

We are dealing with the consequences of a failed administration (the Biden Administration). But that was our government.

So then they are here illegally. It needs corrected. But not at the expense of those who are in the process of doing it legally.

The problem is many of those here illegally entered via invitation from our government. They even provided an app for that.

And the issue is more complicated. Many here illegally committed a civil offence by remaining here (others a felony by how they entered). If you come here legally and stay illegally (overstaying a visa, entering via a tour, etc.) Then you have committed a civil offence. If you enter illegally you have committed a felony.

But the bottom line is WE (the US) opened the boarder, invited these people in, promised we would help meet their needs, etc. The problem is less the migrants and more the past administration.

So then they are not here illegally? I'm confused.
