Right on, Tiny Tim!
No one here has said that it's OK to commit suicide, BTW.

No one has said it isn't sin. The question is whether or not they can still go to Heaven. Please take a look at some of the former posts, they are full of wisdom.Originally posted by standingfirminChrist:
Wonder what God would say to the one who tells people it is ok to commit suicide... isn't that giving them a license to sin?
Alright, if you do decide to kill yourself, don't point a gun to your head pull the trigger, but jump out of a tall building; that way you can repent and ask forgiveness on the way down. One would have to repent of murder in order to enter heaven. Paul wrote the Corinthians that no murderer would inherit heaven.

Jumping off the burning World Trade Towers during the 9/11 incident was one way to escape death. And how about those in the World Trade Towers who were about to be roasted or smothered, and they jumped to their deaths? Will any of them be in the Kingdom, or does it depend on whether the floor they jumped from was high enough to allow them time to utter the phrase "Forgive me for this, Lord!"?
Should they die after the fall, it's not because they really want to die but to live a bit more.
Come on, you knew the answer. Never confuse yourself with these things in your mind.
Cheers.
This was my first reaction, but I dont think it is correct. One good example is above by Alcott. What about those who choose to murder themselfs in the trade centers instead of burn up. Are they all in hell.I don’t believe a real Christian who has hope would commit suicide at any given instance or circumstance.
Interesting. I believe he did.Did not Sampson kill himself when he killed the Phillistines?
If killing your self is the sin then it is always a sin. You justify it in some instances and for some reasons but not others. What you are saying is killing yourself is a sin, unless you have a good reason.Jumping off the burning World Trade Towers during the 9/11 incident was one way to escape death.

We don't have a license to sin just because Christ died for our sins.
If it is ok for a christian to commit suicide, then it is also ok for that christian to lie? to steal? to commit adultery? to commit fornication? to murder someone else.
I cannot buy into this theology. Salvation is not a license to sin. The Bible is clearly against all these sins. We are not saved to return to these sins. Behold if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away, behold all things are become new.
What? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? God forbid! How shall we that are dead to sin continue any longer therein? Romans 6:1,2
I don't believe in a license to sin either.Originally posted by standingfirminChrist:
