I was referring to the statement about God's providence being His setting up the laws of physics (which is identical to deist doctrine if taken alone).Reynolds' statement that "God is active and controls quite a lot" cannot be construed as being a tenet of Deism in any way, shape, or form. It is a gross distortion of Reynolds' beliefs, and yes, is a lie.
