If Iran was to launch a nuclear attack on Israel.

If Iran did have nuclear weapons and intended to launch an attack on Israel, would that cause the return of Christ to prevent that from happening?

No. Humans can't cause the 2ed Coming
of Jesus. God is in charge of the second
coming of Jesus, not an man nor devil.

No, but it would probably start WWIII.

If such were the case, and Israel knew it, then there would be quite a few Iranians that would find out real quickly the fallacy of the "72 Virgins"! :D

Man for man, Israel has the best military on the planet. I don't think that if Iran had nuclear weapons that Israel would give them the chance to use them.

Remember the wars of 1967 or 1973? (help me out here guys. I wasn't very good at history.)

The '67 is correct, not sure about the '73, but seems correct.

Also, anybody remember "ENTEBBE"? I want the Israelis on MY side!!!!

I hope that there are enough moderates in Iranian society to see the futility of firing a first missile at Israel or at us in the USA.

It would be the equivalent of state suicide. Europe, America and Israel would fall on the Iranians hard and mercilessly. Russia would join in, in the hope of finally getting a warm water port.

1973 is correct, that was the Yom Kippar War. Don't know if I spelled Kippar right or not. I would bet on Israel to neutralize the Iranian weapons program (as they did to Iraq's) before Iran can produce a warhead. Bruce
PS If it really is 72 Virginians then those Iranians are not going to like their heaven too much - be a lot of them getting "whooped up on"!

It's amazing how many people believe that this promise is for the OT only!

I personally don't see it that way; I see no restrictions/limitations on this promise, and foresee the end of us as a 1st class nation when Israel no longer can count on us as an ally.

With the spread of Islam, many people are afraid to claim a frienship with Israel, but we know the end of the story--right?

The land promise was only for the Old Testament as ancient Israel proved to be disobedient.

The real promise is to everyone who has the same faith as Abraham in God.

Galatians 3:7-9 (ESV)
Know then that it is those of faith who are the sons of Abraham. [8] And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, "In you shall all the nations be blessed." [9] So then, those who are of faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith.

I don't believe Israel can pull off the same mission as it did against Iraq about 25 years ago. Israel would not have the advantage of surprise this time.

I really don't think that Iran will develop nuclear weapons. The ruling mullahs know that their time is short as the govermental leaders in Iran. I think they are just trying to keep people stirred up to try to cause an "us against them" mentality. I expect within ten years that Iran will have a non-mullah-led government again as the next generation takes over.

Not that the Israeli army isn't one of the best in the world, but it should be kept in mind that during the raid on Entebbe they had a lot of luck and they had mostly incompetant, low morale opposition.
