I totally agree, and really, all three have been beat to death, and cause nothing but anger and meanness. Anyone has the right to their opinion in all three areas, but has no right to impose them on others....Calvin, or KJVO discussions, this board would cease to exist. It used to be we could find some common ground and some nice things to say about each other, but here lately, not so much.

keep in mind that we constantaly have new members on this board - so even if an old subject comes up - it is new for many others.... and really, all three have been beat to death, ...
Depends on how you look at it. That boy who gave the Lords prayer at graduation - did he have a "right" to impose it on the audience. He truly believed that what he did was right. Impose all you want - but I'm liable to do the same as well.Anyone has the right to their opinion in all three areas, but has no right to impose them on others. .
I do not drink, but do not believe the Bible teaches abstinence.
I believe those who make an issue of KJVO have the mind of a hatrack.
We could solve the KJVO and C/A problems if they'd quickly down a six-pack before posting. If it wasn't for alcohol, Calvin, or KJVO discussions, this board would cease to exist. It is truly sad, to me, that the issue of alcohol is more important to some people than the Gospel of Christ. They would rather beat up other Christians for doing something THAT JESUS DID, than spend their time taking the Gospel to the highways and byways...
Forget for the moment the gluttons and the gossips, one thing I notice within a church is those who yak loudest against alcohol are never at visitation, never go on a mission trip, and are seldom at revivals. Their message is flapping their jaws on Sunday mornings in the hallways of the church. These are the same people that stuff their gut at pot lucks but never help set it up or stay to clean up. They are the same people that complain that so and so did not visit them in the hospital but never lift a finger to visit others. These are the same people who complain about the empty pews but never tell others about Christ or ask a neighbor to church. These are the same people who ride the van and complain about the time the van arrives or the temperature in the van, but never volunteered to drive others in their younger days. These are the same people who never show up on Wednesday night except when there is a business meeting that might decide something that will not go their way, like the color of the new carpet.
This is the local church dead weight, and if I had my way, everyone of them would be disfellowshipped.

...the gossips....
Yes......but.....
Domestic or Imported?
Light or Regular?
Lager, Pilsner, or Pale Ale?
Bottled or canned?

That said, why do long term members of this board (some with thousands of posts to their record) continually bring up the same old hot-button topics over and over again?
Even thought I've been here only a short period of time, relatively speaking, why would (should) I feel the need to ask, yet another women wearing pants question, for example. As a layman, trying to grow in the word, shouldn't my posts be, as a general rule of thumb:
a. Answer questions, as best I can, of those joining here after me.
b. Ask questions of those joining before me that arise from a deepening study of His word and its application?
Maybe this is just another deadhorse question that's been beaten to death before, too. :type: And, I'm due a :tonofbricks: for asking.
