If Liberals Hate Him, Then Trump Must Be Doing Something Right

If there was one principle that used to unite conservatives, it was respect for the rule of law. Not long ago, conservatives would have been horrified at wholesale violations of the norms and traditions of our political system, and would have been appalled by a president who showed overt contempt for the separation of powers.

But this week, as if on cue, most of the conservative media fell into line, celebrating President Trump’s abrupt dismissal of the F.B.I. director, James Comey, and dismissing the fact that Mr. Comey was leading an investigation into the Trump campaign and its ties to Russia. “Dems in Meltdown Over Comey Firing,” declared a headline on Fox News, as Tucker Carlson gleefully replayed clips of Democrats denouncing the move. “It’s just insane actually,” he said, referring to their reactions. On Fox and talk radio, the message was the same, with only a few conservatives willing to sound a discordant or even cautious note.

Why would the NYT speak of Liberals in the third person?

Should be first person plural: "If We Hate Him, Then Trump Must Be Doing Something Right."

My theory has always been if I don't know about something, look at how Nancy Pelosi views it and I take the opposite position.

Oh, like when she said Democrats could be pro-life? You mean things like that?

Yep, she was obviously wrong. Democrats obviously can't be pro life because none in the House or Senate are.
1. She was talking about Democrat party voters, not elected officials.

2. Collin Peterson here in Minnesota is a Democrat US House member and he is pro life. I'm sure there are more.

Find me one in the Senate. Better yet, find me one that will vote that way.

If you do not know about something, it is better not to take a position on it until you learn about it first.

If the DNC president has his way, Peterson will be expelled from the democrat party.

Uh-huh. Sure. Mind reading again?

Peterson has already announced he's running again. Why would the Democrats potentially give up a seat in the US Congress?

2014
Peterson voted with the Democratic Party 74.1 percent of the time.

2013
Peterson voted with the Democratic Party 80.4 percent of the time.

Not bad, it might be best to keep him, but where does he stand in issues they really care about like abortion and "gender equality"?

Well, he's conservative. He's pro-life. But I doubt Democrats worry too much about that because abortion laws can't be changed at the federal level without a Supreme Court decision.
