IF Not a Baptist, What Church Would You membership In ?

Non-denominational, likely.
Depends on the church...given that Baptists aren't a denomination and each church decides its beliefs and practices it would be on a church-by-church basis.
WOW since when have baptist not been a denomination?

Need I list more all are a Baptist denominational church, then many are driven by the by-laws of that organization. Many of these so called autonymous churches ask if the Pastor coming in will follow the baptist statement of faith and practice.
I was once a member of a Community Church, the Pastor had been a Baptist pastor and was called to pastor here. I was later music director and interim pastor along with S.S. teacher.
The church I was raised in had Baptist labeled on it but in reality it couldvery easily have had Bible church or Community church as it's label.
So depending on the Doctrinal Statement I would say Bible Church or Community Church. Virtually an Independent church. Autonomous and Independent to me don't mean the same thing. Autonomous means you make choices but are tied to an Asscociation or Group, you send money to someone for affiliation with them. Independent means you make your own decision with no affiliations to associations, national, state or local.

Non-denom for me... A church that was doing what Christ told us to do, Reformed in doctrine, and relevant in culture. Just like the church I now attend. If one did not exist, I'd just go about starting a new one.
Most new Baptist churches are non-denom by nature anyway, especially in light of the fact that all Baptist churches are autonomous. They've mostly left behind the Baptist baggage and are mainly interested in furthering the cause of the gospel.

Well one pastor I knew would say there is the late Bro. ________ when the song dorector was late for services. The song director would in turn say the wife that thou gavesst me made me late. The pastor married them. But what you made it say late after I posted it? Cause it says later in the post. NOW anyway. LOL

I don't know. It would probably be non denominational.
I love the way Presbyterians preach the gospel but I can't stand their stace on infant baptism. I think right baptism is important.

Those kind of places are usually very legalistic and divisive. I hope you are able to serve God there.

Probably non-denominational. I was Catholic for 38 years and have been Baptist for the last 14 years. Baptist doctrine seems most consistent with scripture, so I really would see no reason to move to another denomination.
This church doesn't seem that way at all.

In your scenario did the Baptist church die? I would treat it like a death or divorce. I would do some self examining, study the scripture. To prepare yourself and that the church is prepared for you. I would do lots of prayer, pray without ceasing. That is what you are to do anyway. When you feel your ready visit churches to find a new home.That is what I did when I left the salvation army, I was even a corps cadet. My parents moved me out of the state. I am a faithful person, it would take the act of God to push me out of something. I would like to check out a Messianic Jewish church.

Well,the OP question is impossible. That's because any faith group which seeks to faithfully follow the scriptures would have to be Baptist, whether it calls itself that or not. Well, Baptistic, anyway.
How do I know it would be Baptist? Because it believes as I do. And I could not be part of a faith group that didn't believe as I believe.

Welsh Calvinistic Methodist to be exact Jim.....but alas, it only exists in our bloodlines (and our minds) I'm afraid :applause:
Many Bible and Community churches have beliefs system like the Baptist but chose not to be aligned with them. Evangelical free churches follow similar doctrines of the Baptist, but they are a very seperate entitity.
I believe Chuck Swindoll is an Evangelical Free Pastor or was Pastoring one.
In fact when my Mom was searching for a church to attend when she couldn't find a church that taught the bible from the pulpit and she didn't want a steady diet of preaching slavation or 3 points and poem as many Baptist churches do today. I told her to see if there was an Evangelical Free church in her area. She found one and she enjoys her church and is involved in many things there. It fits the mold of the church I grew up in as a totally independent Baptist.
