I see eschatology is not your strong point, but then I wonder if anyone is correct concerning the end times.

I lean towards the pre-mill position, but doubt that it will play out exactly like it is presented by today's preachers.

Who was talking eschatology... That is how I see his presidency playing out..

And I do look for Christ's return anytime.... not based on American politics.. but based on His promise to return...:wavey:

By the Way.. know what this is?

It was your reference to 3 1/2 years that threw me. Sounded like the midway point in the Tribulation that many pre-mill people hold to.

Working people around the world have always sought a future without war, exploitation, inequality, and poverty. They strive to build a brighter future, one based on democracy, peace, justice, equality, cooperation, and meeting human needs. That future is socialism, a system in which working people control their own lives and destinies, and together build a better world. The Communist Party USA is dedicated to the struggle for socialism in this country. This document is our Party’s program, a statement of our principals and goals and a guide to action along the road to Socialism USA.

Socialism will usher in a new era in this county. The great wealth of the U.S. will for the first time be for the benefit of all the people. Foreign policy will be based on mutual respect, peace, and solidarity. The people’s democratic rights will be guaranteed and expanded. Racial, gender, and social equality will be the basis of domestic policies and practices. Socialism is not a dream, but a necessity to working people’s lives. Only socialism has the solutions to the problems of capitalism in this country.

We, the working people of the United States, face tremendous problems today: exploitation, oppression, racism, sexism, a deteriorating environment and infrastructure, huge budget deficits, and a government dominated by the most vicious elements of big capital and its political operatives. This government, despite its rhetoric about making Americans safe, has wasted hundreds of billions on the invasion and occupation of Iraq while it cut money for maintaining the levees—leading directly to the disaster that Hurricane Katrina wreaked on the people of New Orleans and much of the Gulf Coast. Their callous disregard for African Americans, for poor people, for the elderly, and for all those unable to evacuate on their own exemplifies their inhumane disregard for the lives of all working people.

We as a country face serious choices: militarism and imperialism or peace, increased wealth for the few or justice and equality for the many, increased power in the hands of the super-rich or expansion of democracy for the vast majority, ultra-right domination of all branches of government which deals with problems by increasing exploitation and oppression or progressive electoral coalitions that seek real solutions in the interests of all working people.

The working class and all who work for a living—the vast majority of the people—face a relentless, vicious, and amoral enemy: the capitalist class. Our country is oppressed by one of the most controlling, despicable, entrenched capitalist ruling classes ever, concentrating enormous political, economic, and military power in the hands of a few transnational corporations. These corporations seek to steal, embezzle, extort, and scheme all wealth from the tens of millions of working people, from small businesses and family farmers, from men, women, and children, from seniors and youth, and from the employed, underemployed, and unemployed. They exploit people as workers on the job and the same people as consumers at the checkout counter. Their foremost weapon to maintain their dominance is racism, used to divide working people and achieve extra profits. They work hard to extend ultra-right control over the government and government policy.

The ultra-right is led by the most reactionary, militaristic, racist, anti-democratic sectors of the transnationals. They gain support for their ultra-right agenda from other political trends and social groups, most of which are misled as to their real interests, sometimes blinded by the propaganda of fear and scapegoating.

No, the first half of Obama's Presidency (3 1/2- 4 yrs) will go good.. he will sucker in many people... even the very elect if possible...

Then he will be elected again in 2012 and begin his reign in 2013... It is then the American people will see his evilness for what it really is.

By 2016 Americans will come crawling back to us conservatives for help.
Of course by that time, Christ may have taken us home, and the only ones left will be the deceived.

Sounds a lot like 2000-2008. I was amazed and saddened that it took the American public so long to see the evil of G. Bush and company.

It sure does. After a year or two of what we are going to elect Tuesday, Bush might not look so bad anymore.

President Obama (if such a creature is to be) will be reined in by a Republican Congress starting in 2011.

Depends on whether or not he can buy enough support from the public with his redistribution schemes.

People are weak that way.

Clearly, the only reason a radical liberal has a shot at winning the election for President is because the anger of the American people against GWB has turned to outrage.

I would not call BHO a radical liberal. He is a Marxist, period. It is also likely, given his 20 year association with Jeremiah Wright, that he is a racist. His arrogance is unbelievable. His wife has has certainly give indication that she is racist!

Refusing to negotiate with Israel and the Palestinians in his first term which created a disaster for both Israel and the Palestinians.

Iraq and thereby ignoring Afghanstan which is coming back to bite us.

Taking N. Korea off the terrorist nation list

Halliburton

Tax cuts for the rich and nothing for the poor

Cutting funds to Medicare, Medicaid

Cutting funds to food banks

Lieing to the American people

Gutting environmental regulations ... and working on even more extreme ones before he leafes office

Katrina response

Approving waterboarding

Approving torture

Patriot Act ... which really should have been named the civil rights reduction bill

Deploying a missile defense system that does not work. [GAO Report]

Eliminating 84,000 Pell grants

How many more evils do you want????

Whatever his faults Bush has kept the country safe since 9/11. Can anyone imagine what will happen when the wimp Obama gets in? He may talk our enemies to death. At the very least his trial lawyer buddies will have work defending terrorists if any are caught.

Bless you cotton pickin bleeding heart. So Crabtown the truth has come out. All the time you were saying that your mind was not made up. And that while posting article after article critical of the right. Finally, you have the fortitude to tell the truth about where you actually stand. It's sad, but at least you are now being honest. You are a dyed in the wool liberal. Of course we knew it all along, but at least you are now admitting it. Go ahead and admit you never met a socialist/communist you didn't love.

What if it's God's will for Obama to be president, should we pray for him? After all, Israel had several murderers for King.

Note: I'm not voting for Obama, and I disagree with many of his policies, especially his stance on abortion and homosexuality.

Certainly we should pray for him.

1Ti 2:1-2
(1) First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men,
(2) for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.

Nothing he has done has "kept the country safe." Maybe if he had concentrated on Afghanastan and actually eliminated the main al Quaeda camps there it might have made a difference. Invading Iraq has made us less safe by eliminating the support of most other nations in fighting terrorism and providing terrorists a training ground. What EXACTLY does the Dept. of Homeland Security do, anyway? Not much but they burn a lot of taxpayer money.

Yes.. I will commit to pray for any president we have. Because I still beleive that God places leaders in our midst.
And if Obama wins.. .God is stil in control, and has allowed it... or ordained it... either way.

I will pray that he or she will seek God's guidance and will follow God.

I appreciate your stance. I know it is sometimes difficult to pray for some leaders, but that is what we are commanded to do.

What is amazing about this election is how easily Obama has come from no where to where he is today. If the citizens of this country were morally where they were 30 or 40 years ago, Obama would not even be considered for this or any other high office. I guess the people are wanting quail, and perhaps God will see that we choke on it before it's over with.
