If the vote were next week, trump would be a shoo-in. Outta that whole gang of clowns the Dems have put forth, only Biden stands a realistic chance. Trump would attack his record of holding various offices since 1973, making him a professional politician with 46 years of office. Most Americans are tired of professional lifetime politicians, let alone old men like Biden.

Sanders? His age is against him, as is Biden's. That, and his radical proposals that would disrupt our entile socio-economic system. He sides with AOC on several goofy ideas such as the "Green New Deal". He has little pockets of supporters here & there, but that's it.

Elizabeth Warren has 'WAY too-many goofy & radical ideas for most Americans! Her reparations for same-sex couples is enough by itself to cost her the support of most Americans, let alone her liberal border-opening ideas, as well as a general liberal agenda.

And Kamala Harris was wishy-washy as a prosecutor, and has come out in favor for reparations for descendants of former legal slaves, among other radical liberal ideas.

Sanders, Warren, & Harris stand no chance against Trump. The others aren't worth considering. And Biden keeps wounding himself.

And indeed the mouths of the "Progressives" may spell a rollback of dems in Congress, a possibility recognized by Pelosi; thus her criticism of AOC & her gang.

The only thing hurting Trump at all is his Pac-Man mouth.

Now, if the dems wise up (which is doubtful) & field a candidate that people outside his/her district actually like, then Trump could be beaten. But right now, this gang of Dem "candidates" is the sorriest bunch I've ever seen !

I can faintly remember some Dem candidates from 1952. Estes Kefauver, in particular, a liberal I actually liketo this very day. While K was for racial integration in schools, he was against FORCING it on people.


Some other candidates from that time weren't so hot, such as Strom Thurmond, Richard Russell, and several "prohibitionists" whose names I can't recall. But at least the Dem candidates had some common sense & were certainly not Socialists! (Ike rolled to easy wins in both '52 & '56.)

Saw the internals on this particular poll, they sure hid how they broke the demos down and it was all done right before Mueller's appearance last week, They seemed to poll under/over 45 equally, BIG mistake, and they never disclosed the question of who the participants voted for in 2016 yet asked it. Then there was the partisan breakdown, +6 D, and they created a new category - Independent/Other, about 15 percemt. bet it's full of left-wingers, the "democratic socialists".

I asked myself, "Would I have voted for Clinton's impeachment?" The answer is "No." While I don't doubt that he & Monica dallied, & I don't care for liberal policy, I saw nothing illegal Clinton did in carrying out his duties as POTUS, & To have voted to impeach him woulda opened up a whole new can of worms against any POTUS who would make a less-than-popular decision. I remember when Ike gave the unpopular order to desegregate public high schools. There was some uproar, but there was no serious talk of impeaching him. Deep down, most people knew that was the RIGHT thing to do.

As I said, Trump's main prob is his BIG MOUTH. He often says things he doesn't mean. But I like one thing he said to a heckler at some small rally. The person accused him of words & actions that weren't "Presidential". He retorted, "Well, I AM President, so anything I say & do is Presidential!"

Sure, the Dem nominee will get lots of votes & win some states, especially NY & CA, but will still lose the election. I really believe at least one of the current gang of Dems who isn't the party's nominee will still conduct a campaign outside the party's main stream & draw off votes from the nominee. I especially look for Bernie to do so, as he's an indie anyway. Harris, Warren, O' Rourke, or Buttigeig could each do do as well.

While they holler about Trump's "cruel" immigration policies & about the ICE crackdowns on illegals, they've forgotten (maybe on purpose!) that it was OBAMA who opened most of those detention facilities, deported over 3 million aliens, & had the cages built where children are kept. That FACT will come back to haunt them as election time nears.

It blew up in the GOP's face, as they were accused of conducting a "witch hunt". The articles of impeachment were defeated in the Senate by votes of 50-45 for perjury & 50-50 for obstruction of justice.(Most likely "not guilty" from their own guilty consciences !) (67 "guilty" votes were required for removal from office.)

But we can bet Slick Willie has been under Hillary's thumb from that time onward !

I believe sensible Dems realize they have less to go on against Trump than was against Clinton, & an impeachment would blow up in their faces as well. They could never get it past a GOP-majority Senate.

Clinton was still impeached. by the House. What happened is that the articles failed to received
2/3 of the Senate - for conviction - which would have been 67 votes.

In essence, the House acts as a Grand Jury and the Senate is the trial Jury.

(Most likely "not guilty" from their own guilty consciences !) (67 "guilty" votes were required for removal from office.) .

No - basically it was a party line vote.
