The sad fact is that the majority of Church of England churches are so liberal that N.T. Wright would have nothing to do with them. Yet there are some fine, Bible-believing churches and ministers within that denomination. One of them, a guy called Melvin Tinker, died just recently. Google up his name. He was a great servant of the Lord. He wrote a book called That Hideous Strength: how the West was Lost. Very prophetic.

That is correct. I had in mind an excellent Anglican church just 8 miles or so from where I live, but the vicar at the parish church in my village wouldn't know the Gospel if it jumped out and bit him on the leg!

Oh, my goodness! Anglicans are probably the most theologically diverse denomination there is, from Anglo-Catholic to Zwinglian Protestant, Lutheran-leaning to Reformed-leaning, Arminian, Charismatic, holiness, and within those groupings, every shade of conservatism and liberalism to be found anywhere in Christendom.

Walter, I know you converted to Roman Catholicism. If you had not been able to do that, for whatever reason, do you think there is another church you could have settled on?

where you live but only baby-baptizing churches of different denominations, would you just stay home, or go to one of these? If the latter, which one? I guess I'm asking that if you could only choose such a church, which denomination would you choose? Which would be the least objectionable to you?

I ask not only out of curiosity but because a friend of mine in another state is facing this situation, and I am communicating with him about it. His circumstance is opposite mine because I am surrounded by Baptist churches of different stripes, as well as Pentecostal churches. And a few mainline Protestant ones. Not many Roman Catholic.

P.S. I just want to add that this forum has been a blessing to me in this time of pandemic. Since moving from the hustle and bustle of a big city to this very rural area, I have become isolated because of the pandemic -- haven't gone to church in a very long time. I'm a senior with so-called "co-morbidities", so I've had to be very careful about where I go. I haven't been to a Wal Mart or large supermarket in a long time. So, I just wanted to take a moment to thank the forum members for your fellowship during these trying times.

If there were no Baptist Churches has not been a problem for me... Though being a Baptist there are other men's writing I enjoy... There are no men no matter what the denomination have ALL truth... If we had ALL truth where is the growth?... Did I stop growing in following the Lord or do I have a daily growth?... Do we accept everything we read?... There is discernment, I filter what I believe to what I read... If I read something that is in contrast to what I believe, I will read what the writer has to say, or if said writer has further insight, I will read what he has to say and accept it, or reject it... This relates to Books, Articles and Sermons and as I do, I remember, The Apostle Paul's saying and try to live it everyday but there is also a reverse interpretation... Brother Glen

I think I would first question if your friend's statement is accurate. Sometimes people say something like that and they really haven't looked that hard (or they are being way too picky - not just over baptism, but making a long list of non-essential issues that they want a church to agree with). If they are in a very remote area with very few churches to choose from, then I could see this being a problem. But in most cases I would be surprised if a baptist-like church that practices believer's baptism and is evangelical were not within a 40 minute or so drive (this is in the US). I could be wrong.
