But you do read the apostles encouraging Paul to do it. Paul even offered a sacrifice in the temple in the process. Not saying this is normative. But it is something to think about.
Yes, it is something to think about - if I was of Jewish heritage and the Temple still stood.

But getting back to the original point of the discussion, when Christians today talk about being a "perpetual Nazirite" in terms of not drinking alcoholic beverages, they really don't intend for us to grow our hair out, avoid those who are dead, and avoid all grape products.

It is a misuse of scripture to support an unsupportable position.
