If you could meet just one person from the BB....

I know Pastor Bob intimately and have been with him personally 1,000's of times. Does that count?

I would not even begin to name names because I am 'memory challenged' and I know I would forget someone.

To quote another poster. "I can't think of anyone on the BB I wouldn't want to meet." I feel quite close to most of the lady posters and a few of the male posters. We have gotten to know each other, not only through our posts, but via pms and emails (and an occasional phone call).

Is the BB gathering still on for Branson, MO? I was thinking it was later this month or early September... I can't remember where it is posted though.

Can anyone help me out here?

I don't know who I'd want to meet the most. I think it would definitely be between Sherrie, Sue, Dr. Bob, Scott Emerson, or Diane. All of you at times have blessed my heart more than you know! I have enjoyed my two months here at BB, and think I'll have to make the trip to see some of you someday.

I'd love to sit with Dr. Bob and dicuss a plethora of subjects.

I'd love to listen to CDs with Sherrie and discuss our likes and dislikes.

I'd love to have a Diet Dr. Pepper (Caffeine Free on my part) with Sue.

I'd love to sing or lead worship with Scott.

I'd also love to sit and chat with Diane for a while. She's been encouraging to me for as long as I've been here.

All in all, the BB is an experience and journey I enjoy immensely. Thank you all for contributing. To God be the Glory!

In His Grip,
joshua

He graduated from our high school a couple years ahead of my wife (we live 1/2 block from the school) and now we have "Cheney Athletic Field". Whoppee.

LOL Well, someone in church is trying to arrange to visit the Americans who visited our church recently. That would most probably be next spring it it happens. So Rob and I may find ourselves the other side of the pond in a few months time

Aside from Dr. Bob, of course, it would have to be Edifier.

Edifier, if you are out there, read Philippians 1:3.
If you don't know it already, read that verse in the 1611 Authorised Version - it sounds so much better in Early Modern English!!

Thank you Baptist in Richmond.

Philippians I:3 (KJV1611):

I thanke my God vpon euery
||remembrance of you,

|| Or, mention.

So here is the alternative reading,
or second best reading according to the
50 original translators of the KJV:

I thank my God vpon euery
mention of you,

Every mention - lots of names so cited bring smiles to my face!

Ed - would you start a thread on the Versions forum about "alternative" words in the original AV? With all the emphasis on the 'perfect' how can there be alternatives.

Thanks. NOT for discussion here.

Are YOU SBC? Don't you KNOW you need to elect a committee on committee's to select a committee to elect a chair person for said such committee? .......... You're treading on thin ice when you start appointing people without going through the proper committee!

</font>[/QUOTE]Diane, may I relate a story to you. Several years ago, I was pastor of a small Free will Baptist in WV. It was so small we did not even have any kids for Sunday School. Sure enough one week a family with kids did come. I asked one of the ladies to have a class for the kids. She informed me she had not been voted on by the church to be a teacher. I told her to teach anyways, so far the roof has not caved in. (DR Bob, should I come to you for cofession for this awful act of anti-Baptist!)

I have heard your confession to this horrendous sin (still looking for the verse on qualifications of a children's Sunday School teacher)

I would share this ancient credo: "Te audire no possum. Musa sapientum fixa est in aure."

(Loose translation: I can't hear you. I have a banana in my ear. BUT it sounds spiritual if you say it reverently.)

I would like to meet Roy, 25 years in the past. Maybe even work him over a bit to try and straighten him out.

Roy, I like that answer!
But..if you're content in your life now it would be a bad idea, because maybe being a perfect youngster would have landed you in a different position at this point in time. Perhaps you would have been so good you would have been helping an old lady cross the street and you wouldn't even be here today. :D

Exellent point, Gina. God really knew what He was doing when He put time travel out of our reach, didn't He?

Much to my surprise, I would actually like to meet Rev. Joshua!

I have to actually see the man in person, just to make sure that he is for real ;)

Seriously, though, I would love to have a non-alcoholic drink with him and just chat about politics and church. Though I have my disagreements with him, I respect his honesty.

And by the way: does anyone else here think that Rev. Joshua bears a strong resemblance to Tom Cruise?

The late, much maligned, Rev Joshua.

Sherrie (who I don't think I've told how glad I am that she's back)

Laurenda.

Abiyah.

Several others. If I forgot you, it's not you, it's me. My memory's shot.
