That's not quite true. Much of that is actually an oft-repeated myth fostered by activist vegeterians (not to impy that you are one; you certainly are not).
In reality, human physiology is neither strict carnivour nor strict herbovour. Humans are omnivours. A human's teeth and stomachs are designed to process both animal and vegetable products.
I know we are not herbivores - but we were made originally not to eat meat - meat was only eaten after the Flood. I think the fact man is not like a carnivore is significant.
Being an omnivore is a result of sin - eating meat after the Flood.
And it is true what I said about the intestines. The human intestines are quite long and meat putrefies in there and creates toxins.
Meat-eaters: have intestinal tract that is only 3 times their body length so that rapidly decaying meat can pass through quickly
Herbivores: have intestinal tract 10-12 times their body length.
Humans: have intestinal tract 10-12 times their body length.
Meat-eaters: have strong hydrochloric acid in stomach to digest meat
Herbivores: have stomach acid that is 20 times weaker than that of a meat-eater
Humans: have stomach acid that is 20 times weaker than that of a meat-eater
Meat-eaters: salivary glands in mouth not needed to pre-digest grains and fruits.
Herbivores: well-developed salivary glands which are necessary to pre-digest grains and fruits
Humans: well-developed salivary glands, which are necessary to pre-digest, grains and fruits

Note: I am not endorsing this website but I believe the above are facts.
If people knew what happens when animals are slaughtered in factory farming (not only the cruelty as to how they are kept but how they often killed) and how unsanitary it is, not to mention the lack of good inspections, they might not want meat.
At any rate, being vegetarian is a good alternative. If I ate meat, I would buy only free-range meat. When I buy eggs, I buy only eggs from cage-free chickens. I do believe it's unbiblical to treat animals in a cruel way.
