    Genesis----Foundational

Isaiah-----Primary prophetic book about the Messiah

John---Best presentation of the person of Christ

Revelation----Leaves no doubt that He who began it all will be the victor when it is all over.

THis is hard. Only 4? hmmm
    My definite choices would be.-
    Luke
    Romans
    Ephesians

I'm not sure about the 4th. It's a toss up between Genesis, Isaiah, Galatians, Philippians, Hebrews, 1 John and Revelation. lol I don't know. I might have to close my eyes and just pick. It looks like everyone picked Romans as one of their 4. Cool. :)

    4 books?

    Genesis- Foundation of the Word
Job- Shows God infinite Love through all our trials and hardships even under harsh circumstances brought on by the devil
1st 4 books of New Testament - Christ speaks to us about Gods' infinite grace and love and forgiveness and our salvation
    Revelation- Our warning about life.

These tell of our beginning to our inifinite end. :praise: :praying: :saint:

WOW Hard to choose just 4!

Genesis--to remind me of where I came from.
    Proverbs--to guide me with wisdom.
Matthew--to remind me what Jesus did for me.
Revelation--to know where I am going!

That was tough, it took me all of 20 minutes to think of what I would choose!

    1. John
    2. Romans
    3. Ephesians
    4. Any other epistle

If you read those books, and take them at face value, you will believe in sovereign grace.

aren't you all glad that God gave us the Bible in its entirity ? I am so thankful that God did not just choose 4 books. Then we would have even less to go on, as far as living for Christ, and following Him!

Genesis, John, Romans, and Ephesians. I agree with the last post. All books are needed to make the picture complete, but this is a good thread. Very thought provoking

    Psalms , Isaiah , John , Romans .

Of course I am grateful we have the whole canon . Imagine if we didn't have access to a couple or dozens of these biblical books ! We would be so eager to soak-up the contents of even more of God's Word . I think that if one is deprived of most of the canon they would totally be focused on the Holy Books they do have from the canon .

I remember hearing that prisoners of war in Vietnam sometimes had to mentally reconstruct books from memory and string along verse after verse . How much have we ( who are so rich in Scripture availability ) stored-up in our hearts ? It is still possible that persecution might come in which we would have to face the lost of our Bibles . But the Word of God will continue unabated .

Genesis ~ Got to have the foundation
    Isaiah ~ Warnings about ungodliness, Messianic passages, hope for the future. {The Romans of the Old Testament.}
John ~ The last of the Gospels, clear salvation presentation, Deity of Christ
Revelation ~ The last chapter of the Book. Shows that God wins, and we get to be with Him.

Glad we have the whole thing, though.

    Job
    Ecclesiastes
    Leviticus
    Song of Solomon

It seems like having partial revelation instead of full revelation would have to change what you believe about many things. I do not know whether predestination would be one of those things, though.

    Psalms, Ecclesiastes, John and Romans

I guess I chose these because their page edges always seem to get the "dirtiest" in my Bible(s).
