IMPUTATION

I. Adam transgressed the law of God. As a result, God imputed Adam’s sin to all men without exception.

II. God loves the elect, and He imputed their sin to Christ.

III. Christ died for the elect. Therefore, God imputes the righteousness of Christ to the elect.

IV. The imputed righteousness of Christ refers to His perfect obedience to the law, and His substitutionary death. This is the whole work of the righteousness of Christ in its compact unity, which is commonly referred to as His preceptive and penal obedience.

V. The righteousness of Christ is the only grounds of justification, and assurance of salvation.

VI. The gospel of Christ is not a well-meant offer of salvation; it's a declaration of His completed and saving work.

Never heard of that terminology before... So I looked it up... Poppycock!... How are you going to infuse a DEAD MAN?... Brother Glen:)

Ephesians 2:1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins:

2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

2:3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

I saw a documentary by Mary Shelley where they did infuse a dead man and brought him to life.

That's funny I saw another one, not a documentary, where they did that to a dog... Brother (Oh the horror, Oh the horror) Glen:eek:

This is how it works. Paul says believers have Christ's imputed righteousness just as they once had Adam's imputed sin. So we cannot perish. Salvation is out of our hands. But Paul teaches that we have our own wood, hay, stubble works that can merit reward in the resurrection. Or be burnt up leaving us with no righteousness of our own. But he says even if that is the case, we are still saved because of Christ's (God's) very own imputed gift of righteousness. This is the true presentation of OSAS.

Or be burnt up leaving us with no righteousness of our own.

Regardless of what we do or don't do, we never have any righteousness of our own.

Isaiah 64:6 But we are all like an unclean thing, And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; We all fade as a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, Have taken us away.

This is true. But scripture teaches a better resurrection for some. Do you think the martyrs do not reap rewards for their faith?

We don't plan what our "good works" are. God does.

Ephesians 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. (Emphasis mine)

Mark 10:40 but to sit on My right hand and on My left is not Mine to give, but it is for those for whom it is prepared.” (Emphasis mine)

God is absolutely sovereign.

But if he plans your martyrdom, it is the greatest position you can be in with rewards commensurate in heaven.

Right, it would be God's ordaining it for that particular person, not that person choosing to do it by his own power.

Before the throne of God above
I have a strong and perfect plea. (Heb 4:15-16)
A great High Priest whose Name is Love (Heb 4:14)
Who ever lives and pleads for me. (Heb 7:25)
My name is graven on His hands, (Isa 49:16)
My name is written on His heart.
I know that while in Heaven He stands
No tongue can bid me thence depart. (Rom 8:34)

When Satan tempts me to despair (Luke 22:31-32)
And tells me of the guilt within,
Upward I look and see Him there (Acts 7:55-56)
Who made an end of all my sin. (Col 2:13-14)
Because the sinless Savior died
My sinful soul is counted free.
For God the just is satisfied
To look on Him and pardon me. (Rom 3:24-26)

Behold Him there the risen Lamb, (Rev 5:6)
My perfect spotless righteousness, (1 Cor 1:30; 1 Peter 1:18-19)
The great unchangeable I AM, (Heb 13:8; John 8:58)
The King of glory and of grace,
One with Himself I cannot die.
My soul is purchased by His blood, (Acts 20:28)
My life is hid with Christ on high, (Col 3:3)
With Christ my Savior and my God! (Tit 2:13)
