Yes Ronald Reagan would clobber Obama in an election. Mitt Romney is going to lose, and my opinion is, by election day, by a substantial margin.

Obama's tenure reminds me of Carter's, though I don't recollect the sense of national doom to the same degree that a second Obama term holds.

If Reagan were alive and running with the same message, I think the result would be the same.

Side note. Interesting that in 1979, Iran was an issue. In 2012, it will be again.

Aside from the gas lines, the biggest thing I remember was purchasing my first home when Carter was President. The only interest rate I could get was a 15% variable.

I remember those days. I bought my first house in 1986 and the interest rate was 9.0% which was considered very good after the recession of the early 80's. I recently refinanced (my third house) at 4.25%.

And yes, Reagan would destroy Obama.

I also believe Reagan would thump Obama. We wish for another Reagan type here, one more time in our lifetime at least, and for two terms.

Unfortunately, I do not see RR winning this round!
Why?? Simply because the masses of sheeple are looking to the false messiah to solve all their problems and cover all their debts with other people's money, AND, most glaringly, the masses have been brainwashed to believe 99.99% of the words from His Majesty's lying lips - facts notwithstanding!
When RR ran, the masses had far more common sense and were a little more wary of any politico's promises.
The ZERO should never have won the last election, but the preceding is exactly why he won then; today it's worse.

Given how frequently Obama has been invoking Reagan lately, trying to convince us that Reagan would approve of what Obama has done...

Obama thinks that Reagan would beat him too.

I don't think Reagan could get elected. I think his age alone would stop him. Sadly, voters seem to want American Idols in the White House rather than qualified citizens. Popular culture has taken over and our society is doomed.

If the Republicans could find a conservative who is also "cool", we may have a chance.
