because our Churches have been organized by “mother Churches,” and that it is wrong to require letters of dismission
and permission from previously existing Churches of which we were members in order to constitute a new Church.

Some may read the title of this present article and immediately say that no such thing as Landmarkism existed in the colonial days of North America.
But I submit that this present article will demonstrate beyond a doubt to the candid reader
that The Earliest Baptist Churches in America were Independent Sovereign Grace Colonial Landmark Missionary Baptist Churches.

"The first Baptist Churches in Colonial America were indeed practicing Landmarkers,
although of course they had no knowledge of that term as it had not been coined at that early date.

"This present article will also indicate to the thoughtful reader that the Welsh Churches –
from whence these Colonial Baptist Churches immediately succeeded –
had practiced Landmarkism in their Churches in that island nation prior to the coming of the Welsh Baptists to North America.

"And those who know Welsh Baptist history will be aware of the fact that these Welsh Baptist Churches
must have learned these practices from the apostle to Wales, for they have a valid claim to having been planted by no less personage than Paul himself
when he made his visit to Britain in connection with Claudia and Pudens (mentioned in 2 Tim. 4:21).

"Thus Landmarkism may with historical evidence logically be seen to be the Scriptural practice of early Welsh Churches planted by Paul

That's the French Alps early persecuted Christians, separate and fleeing from Roman Catholic persecution, preserving the faith in their mountain communities.

I think they later connected with Wales.

I knew that Landmark Baptists embraced much of Calvinism, but not much more about their particulars.

There may be those who are unaware of Revelation's inner structure, which is that each of the Seven Visions are each written regarding the same Timeline, from the First Ministry of Jesus Christ on Earth, in His First Coming, then until after His Present Reign from Heaven where He now is, when Jesus Comes to Earth a Second Time, in His Second Advent.

Since each Vision totally overlaps with each of all the others, and represent the same Time Period between Jesus' First Advent and His Second, the churches of the Lord Jesus ( just like the Seven churches of Asia addressed in Revelation 2&3) are still seen as being persecuted in heated Spiritual Battle with the Dragon, which played out in "the women", which are Jesus' churches, fleeing into the actual wilderness.

Revelation 12:6; "And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a Place Prepared of God,

and this reference to 1,260 days is another one of several ways the Lord symbolically expresses the measurement of the length of Time covered in Jesus' Inner-Advent, the same as above, from His First Coming to His Second Coming, using a figure of speech.

Oh yeah..Italian..not French Alps

We can rest assured that if there was an Alp, or anywhere else to hide, they were packed with God's people any time there were/are persecutions.

Our church was founded in 1786, after The Traveling Church traveled 600 miles from Virginia to escape civil and religious persecution, when Baptist preachers were jailed for preaching the Gospel.

"Bryan Station Baptist Church is a local, visible, called-out assembly of scripturally baptized believers, covenanted together according to the Biblical pattern of a “one member, one vote,” spirit-led democracy; whose purpose is the carrying out of the Great Commission of Matthew 28:16-20.

We have been preaching the same thing, through the late 1700s, all the way through all of the 1800s & 1900s, until today in 2026, and hopefully until the Lord's soon Return.
