India I believe as a very militant and large Muslim community, and they need to hear preached to them the real gospel and real Jesus, not the heresy of WOF

I want you to expand some on this idea of Imdia needing more Baptist Pastors

At face value, i agree

Can we discuss at what point Baptist Churches in India must take control of their own missions.

I am not saying to mot send Missionaries, I am saying that work has been going on there for 100!yrs!

Why is India not raising up their own pastors?

Does anyone know the answer to this question?

I’m not trying to answer your question. I don’t have the answer. I am not familiar enough with the situation.
I think the original thought was “India need more and more Baptist preachers.”
The question remains. I don’t see how the result or answer would be different. I think the problem is with Baptist pastors not training Baptists for the ministry.

Speaking, not for India, but from my own experience-
It would be ridiculous to think that the perfect “pastor trainee candidate” will walk in the door, be recognized and recruited and continue the process.
Churches need to be continually training all kinds of servants in the ministry.
Does your church have a pianist? Many don’t. Music is a big deal. It affects us. It was part of worship in the temple. It is part of NT worship. It shouldn’t be the main focus of the church, but if you are not teaching your church to use their musical abilities for God, you are teaching by practice that it is an area of life that God doesn’t care about.
Building maintenance is the same. Life skills are shared amongst church members on work party nights. Fellowship and education in basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, tent making, you name it, and some kid may find a trade to support his life.
Pastors and teachers the same way. The best place to find someone who will make a great future Baptist pastor is someone who is already faithful. Faithful in what?
Do you share the Gospel as a church? Or is spreading the gospel some other religions thing. Are we so afraid of being mistaken as a JW or Mormon that we don’t tell people about Christ? Stop looking for pastors to train and go back to work on yourself.
Do you have someone in your church who is faithful in the church? You should have lots of faithful people. How would you know that they are faithful if the pastor and his tight five are the only ones who do anything in the church. I don’t recommend having people fill out their weekly report cards. I’ve seen weekly reporting of “what did you do this week?” When God is keeping the records, it seems meaningless to me to try to do it.
The only way to find people to “teach others also” is to teach people to be faithful. It will require having a “body.” It must be more than a mouth on Sunday morning. There must be members in the body who function in their tasks.

Sorry for getting long winded. The idea is find opportunities to add people into the ministry, one step at a time.
