The Devil knows your name and calls you by your sin... The LORD your sin and calls you by your name... Brother Glen:)

What interesting thoughts do you have?

What is the rock upon which the church is built? Matthew 16:18.
The foundation of the church was laid by the prophets and apostles, with Christ being the cornerstone. Ephesians 2:20

In the OT, the Yahweh is said to be the rock of my salvation.

So what is the church built upon, our Triune God, Yahweh, or our Lord and savior, Christ Jesus, or the Apostle Peter? Or perhaps something else?

We certainly know Christ is the head of the church. And using biology for illustration, we know the body does as the head commands. So, referring to the body of Christ, the church as a spiritual organism, when the head says stand, the body stands, and when the head says evangelize, the body evangelizes.

So might one aspect of the "rock" concept be obedience, for His sheep hear and follow His voice. Could divine influence, rather than disregard be part of the bedrock of the church?

Interesting thought and a hat tip to Dr. MacArthur.

Ever wonder why we drive on the parkway and park on the driveway?
Or we have larger houses and smaller families?
Or why our lives are long on quantity but short on quality?
Or why the way is broad that leads to destruction?

Politics is the art of using as many words as possible… to say nothing at all… and have as many people as possible…. agree with you.

You can fool some of the people all the time and all the people some......

This brings to mind a quote from Bilbo Baggins that I still smirk at today:

"I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve."

If you want to know God’s will, read Scripture. If you want to hear God’s will audibly spoken to you, read Scripture aloud.

Another one of my preacherisms... Brother Glen:)
