Emeraldctyangel has a good point. My son works at the library and I just asked him about this. He told me that when certain books are checked out a lot, or a certain topic is popular, the library orders more of the same.

Also, imo, trying to keep these books out of the library does not do much good as the info is on the Internet at thousands of websites. Let's be realistic -- most parents do not monitor their children's or teens' use of the Internet. Teens and children are very computer savvy and can get to stuff in seconds.

    Bookstores also carry these books.

We need to deal with the fact that this stuff is out there and we can't stop it. We have to decide how to talk to our kids about it since they will be exposed eventually if not already.

My suggestions when I speak on this:
    1. Don't scare your kids; no need to be scared of Wicca or Wiccans
    2. Show them passages against the occult in the Bible like Deut. 18.10-12. Also, there are dozens of passages against divination and spiritism.
    3. Tell them (depending on age) that if they are seeing this in school (there are Wiccans in probably every high school in the country and in most middle schools), that they can pray for the Wiccans and be nice to them.
    4. Teach them about persistent prayer: If the kids are in a Christian club at school, they should urge the club to pray on a regular basis for the Wiccans at the school, and for opportunities to witness.

Care to point me to that particular article, gb...I seemed to have missed it, and I'm SBC and I live in the Nashville area. </font>[/QUOTE]It has been a long time since I had the magazine and the article. Several pastors I contacted pulled the magazines from their shelves in their churches. I think the title of the magazine was HomeLife sometime between late 1998 and early 1999. If I recall right it was about sea life. I tried looking it up online and was unable to find it. The article promoted theistic evolution.

Ok...I'll see if I can find it, gb...not saying it wasn't there, just saying I might have missed it. Hoping no offense was taken. [IMG]
