My name is Youth in Asia, I did ministry in China for 7 years, and now back home in Canada. Just waiting for Jesus to return soon. I miss him.

Sometimes I have questions, and this board seems to have some knowledgeable people.

Euthanasia?

I took this name from a ministry to young people, used it for a long time.

I did ministry in China, for most people around me, English was not their mother language, so puns were never a priority. But my name does seem offensive to the western church. I guess just like the ancient word "gay" has lost it's meaning, so did Youth in Asia :(

LOL - Just wondering if it was on purpose.

Yeah! I'd be glad to change it... but I have a fiancee stuck there, once she comes I will re-evaluate how I pick my usernames :)

Oh now I see you are using your name to honor your fiancee, who is actually the Youth In Asia... Well as my wife would say, that is really sweet and if any ladies happen to see this, ladies he's a keeper... You're kind of a romantic rascal aren't you?... Brother Glen:)

Ok, lets lighten up, he's:Inlove

Welcome to our corner of the world. Honest questions will always receive honest answers.
And, most often, some humor, sarcasm, response questions, misunderstanding of motives, little patience, sermons on why you are wrong, etc.

In other words, about the same from the Body of Christ anywhere! Some can't handle it, but most enjoy the ride.

BTW, where in China were you? I've traveled a little in that part of the world as my wife (an alternative heath doctor) did some studies there and got an award at a conference in Hong Kong.

Welcome, welcome, welcome, YIA. Glad to have you on board!! All kinds of interesting AND contrary characters here, but very lively & entertaining.

(Going off-topic for a sec.)

Dr Bob, re: your wife's occupation, is this a "natural medicine" type Dr.?
I've not researched it, but I've believed for years that probably 90-95% of our "illnesses" could be avoided/cured by following a biblical based food regimen. Can you recommend any books that offer such? Thanks!!

After a terminal illness that was staved off by natural Chinese medicinal foods/herbs (and prayer), she quit teaching (at age 40 with her M.A. in education) college, and returned to school to earn a doctorate in natural health. Established her clinic here in Wyoming in 1993 and retired last year. She said the latest edition of Prescription for Nutritional Healing : A Practical A-Z Reference to Drug-Free Remedies Using Vitamins, Minerals, Herbs and Food Supplements by Phyllis A. Balch and James F. Balch would be the best single-volume.

We have traveled the world in study and practice (I got to enjoy wonderful sites around Beijing while she sat in conferences with head phones and translators of some great natural health figures). We still love Sunrider Herbal Foods (and have hundreds of her former clients using them - send me a personal note if interested in such)

Hi! Thank you so much for the replies!

I lived in the capital of Hebei, Shijiazhuang. In total I spent 7 years in China.

I decided to run away from a boring life in Canada, and went to China at 23 years old. No experience, no University education, God opened the door in 2008 to be a primary school teacher! In 2009 I became a student of Chinese language. In 2011 I got saved, and born again. I left China to go to Bible school in Wyoming. I saw Bible studies with no Bible, and God gave me a burden to be a Bible teacher. I graduated in 2014, and went to Las Vegas to do social work among the Jewish people for a Christian organization that ministers to them. In 2015 I returned to China, where I was a university ESL teacher until 2020.

God has been good to me! Attached is a PDF that has a sample of my book I wrote a few months ago, it has a photo of me and my Fiancee.
