1Th 1:4 KJV Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God.
If you are among the chosen of God, He will have His way with you.
Did Saul open the door of his heart and invite Jesus in?
If Jesus is knocking on the door of a spiritually dead soul, how can He expect a response?
True, but the sinner still does receives the Grace of God applied towards him by God thru faith, its not say after me and recite, but still is the sinner responding to jesus after the Holy Spirit has quickened them to do so!The Bible doesn't mention an altar call, or a pre-planned/canned prayer. I'm not opposed to altar calls, but I fear that many people don't understand what they are doing.
Revelation passage is addressing already saved persons, in a corporate church assembly though! If Jesus is knocking it is because He knows "I will supernaturally DRAW ALL mankind unto Me" John 12:32 which supernaturally enables each one who is alone on the inside "to open" the door if they so choose.
Not everyone chooses to do so.
"He came to His OWN and His OWN received Him not" John 1:11
But don't calvinists say there are "warnings" in case there are "false converts" in the midst?Revelation passage is addressing already saved persons, in a corporate church assembly though!
There are encouragements to make sure that our election and calling of/from God is sure....But don't calvinists say there are "warnings" in case there are "false converts" in the midst?
So why couldn't this be the same thing in Rev. 3:20? Also, this seems to be Christ's final appeal in a general sense, not just the to Laodiceans...There are encouragements to make sure that our election and calling of/from God is sure....
As Israel so the visible local church in the respect that it is a mixed multitude - Wheat and tares.Revelation passage is addressing already saved persons, in a corporate church assembly though!
I did BUT I did it by Repenting of my sin and Believing in Him. I don't know if that would qualify as asking Jesus into my heart or not lolYou've either said this yourself or heard someone say it, but Is there any biblical merit to the practice of instructing people to, "Invite Jesus into your heart"?
Did you, "Invite Jesus into your life"?

Nevertheless, the invite is not completely biblical for people aren't saved by asking Jesus into their life but by entering into His life. How does one enter into His life? By repentance and faith in the work of Jesus.
The Gospel call elicits a response.
It was a general statement--the Gospel elicits a response.I'm not clear what this is in reference to. Are you saying that Rev. 3:20 is a "gospel call"?
But don't calvinists say there are "warnings" in case there are "false converts" in the midst?
Thank youBrother,

But the church is a mixed multitude - wheat and tares.Yes. It is addressed to a specific church, and that church is part of The Church.
But the church is a mixed multitude - wheat and tares.
Looks like, maybe, perhaps, possibly God wants even tares to be saved!
Acts 17:30 Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent,
