I have the 30 gig, no accessories. I love it.

The only thing I don't like about it is that it goes through juice like crazy. I've got to put it on the charger every time I come home.

I have a 60 gig Ipod.

I also dislike the need to recharge constantly.

I have my entire collection of I Love Lucy (179 episodes) on my Ipod and can watch 4 shows before needing to recharge.

My Lucy episodes only take up 20 gigabytes of space.

I also keep my all documents on my Ipod along with my Bluegrass Gospel songs.

Oh, also I have a great collection of sermons by Don Farmer, James Knox, and William McCrea

I dont have one and probably never will. I listen to music via CD's.

But because the topic is Ipods, let me ask you all this:

You are a salesman trying to sell me one of these "IPODS", whatever that is.

Why should I buy one? :)

If you like listening to CD's, you would especially like the Ipod.

1. Many CD's can be copied to the Ipod. On average 280 songs can be burned to one 700 mb CD. Figure around 80 CD's stored on a 60 gig Ipod. The Ipod is so small it fits in the palm of your hand.

2. Not just for CD's, the Ipod can store Movies or TV shows for viewing anytime. Great for airplane trips.

3. The Ipod can be plugged into any PC for quick recharge (approximately 30 minutes) of battery.

Also, I have a lot of soundtracks I sing on one of my MP3 players...
They just plug into the soundsystem at church, and voila, all my songs are one my handheld.

Some car stereos now have the input jack for MP3 players...
so there is no need to keep switching CDs.

OK, that peaks my interest a little bit. So, if I can somehow figure out how to put these 280 songs into the Ipod, I can carry these 280 songs around with me. Thats not too shabby. :thumbs:

Ahem. Well...if the entire IPod is the size of the palm of my hand, does that mean the TV screen it has is about the size of a fingernail? :laugh:

Could I get a model without the TV part...meaning it would be much cheaper...and only the 280 songs part?

Sure, just go to ebay and search for MP3 players... (Ipod is a brand name of the Apple MP3 player)... I got one for $5 off ebay last fall.
It also has a place for a SD card. And with a SD card you can hold a lot more than 280 songs.. If you get the 2 gig, or higher, you are talking about 1000s of songs...

The way you get them on your MP3 player is to plug the MP3 player into your USB drive on your computer, then just copy the songs to it.

It is real fast.

If you really want a good one, get a pocket pc... it has windows media on it. And you have much more than a MP3 player... you have a handheld computer, the same size as a cell phone.
And if you get a pocket pc, you can download the Pocket pc version of e-sword, so you have your Bible on there also, along with dictionaries and commentaries...
Also games, organizer.. Word, etc.

I have the ipod shuffle. It holds up to 240 songs, (approx. 12 hours of music), and it clips on to your clothing or whatever else you want to clip it to, not to mention the fact it is tiny. (smaller than a matchbox) It is perfect for the gym which is pretty much the only place I use it. Although I did get an adapter so that I can use it in the car.

I may look into this.

If I can get one for $5 on Ebay that might not be too bad. All I would have to do is figure out how to put the songs on it. I burn mix CD's with Windows Media Player sometimes...can the songs go from there to the Ipod thing easilly?

And how much does this "pocker computer" thing cost, and can you surf the internet with it?

If you buy an apple product all you need to do is download itunes then all you have to do is load the cds into your itunes library. Very easy.

Well, I dont know what you mean by "on my pc". I can put things on that Windows Media player than enables me to burn mix CD's. Does that mean they are "on" my pc?

What is a "program" and how do I get it? Is it these "cards" things I hear about? You see, the more "programs" and "downloading" and "cards" stuff is involved the more I lose interest. I just cant stand fooling with all that stuff.

ITunes is very similar Windows Media Player. Anything you can listen to or burn with WMP you can with iTunes. It is also possible to transfer music from your WMP library to the iTunes library. It is a piece of cake.

It is easy to put songs (mp3's) on your PC (computer). When you place your CD (round flat shiny thing) into your PC's CD-ROM (looks like a cup holder when open), open your Windows Media Player (Microsoft Program to play music and videos).

Look for a tab that says 'Rip'. Click it with your cursor (arrow that moves on your screen when you move your mouse) and when the 'Rip' window opens, drag and drop the tracks from the CD to the 'Rip' window.

Click 'Start Copy'.

Voila! (congratulations!) Your tracks (that which the songs have been recorded to on the CD) have been copied to your Hard Drive (storage device) on your PC.
