    His Blood...

Oh, all of that is stuff I'm very familiar with. Thats pretty much how I burn my compilation CD's. So I guess what you are saying is that all I would do is plug the pod thing into the computer somehow and click "burn", and those songs would "burn" into the little pod thing rather than the CD? Correct?

I just didnt know putting songs onto one of these little bitty pod things is done the same way.

This is good news indeed! :godisgood:

    Thanks,

    Mike

yep, that is how you do it.

MOst come with the cable to connect with the PC using the USB.
others have one end that just plugs into the USB.

It is just like burning the music onto the MP3 player...

As for the pocket PC I got mine used off ebay for $130.
But I got carried away in the bid...I was inpatient.
If I wanted to wait I may have found some cheaper...

A new one runs from $350 on up.
Some comes with the ability to go wireless on the net.
    Mine didn't.
They are now being combined with cell phones.

Today the cheapest iPod from apple is a 1 GB shuffle for $49 with 1 year warrantee.

It is rated for 240 songs at 4 minutes each.
You may want to note that most other brands will rate a 1gb player for 500 songs because they rate it at a less than CD quality setting.

I just caved in and bought my 16 year old son a Microsoft Zune. We did all the research and felt like this was better than any IPOD. It does have some great nifty features and his first impression has been great.

The funny thing about the Zune is that is has gotten terrible reviews but is actually a decent player are far as I can tell.

Make no mistake it is no where near as good as the iPod in usability but it isn't bad and actually supports the mp4 formats like the iPod.

The wifi feature is about worthless though.

The Zune is a lot thicker and heavier but it does have a larger screen.

The funny thing is that the Zune has gone a more proprietary route, similar to the iPod.
It does not work with the existing Windows Media based stores. :)

B y the way, the difference between the iPod models:

Shuffle: Tiny, about the size of a quarter no screen Just music 240 songs $79

Nano: Also small, smaller than a credit card, music and pictures calendars etc. up to 2000 songs. $149-$249 depending on capacity

iPod Video: almost as big as a stack of cards. Music, videos and pictures. Games, calendars address book notes etc.
    $249 for 7500 songs (30 GB) $349 for 20,000 songs (80GB)

The MS Zune fits the in the same categorie as the $249 iPod video and has a similar feature set for the same price.

The Zune gives you a bigger screen but the iPod gives a better designed product and greater compatibility with computers etc.

    hey

i have the 30Gb - and the battery lasts a long time - like close to 10 hours!

oh and i love the battery-charger/fm-transmitter (2-in-1) - for the vehicle.

it charges your ipod and if your ipod had docking capabilty then you can plug it into your ipod - change the transmitter and your car stereo to the same station and Voila! your ipod is playing in your vehicle.

i got a couple movies on mine - Remember the Titans and Lords of Dogtown. :p

still have to put the rest of my music on there though. not even 2Gb used up yet. :p

There are literally thousands of iPod accessories out there.

the iPod alarm clocks are great too, they are like a clock radio, except with an ipod dock built in.
