    BUT
even if we acknowledge Israel's right to exist,
should Christians recognise a Biblical, prophetic mandate?
Should we recognise a state where different legal system apply for different religions?
Should non-Jews leave the country or accept the present status?

Sadly I know that religious discrimination exists around the world, in Muslim & Communist countries, & now in "politically correct" countries.

Should the "free" Western nations initiate a vigorous challenge to ALL states in an attempt to establish freedom of religion, including freedom to convert AND freedom to speak but not discriminate against other beliefs?

I don't think the Brits have the military power to tell the Saudis to withdraw from Yemen. As for Israel, the UK lost that colonial possession on May 14, 1948, seventy years ago. So the Palestinians should make peace after seventy years or else shut up. The Palestinians should move to Algeria.

This video shows the British perfidy in 1936 in giving 80% of what should have been Israel to the Palestinians. I say the UK is finished forever as a colonial power in that area of the world. The UK failed, perhaps out of incompetence.

I don't think there's anything honourable in being a colonial power and glad we gave up that nonsense last century. We weren't very good at it but, then again, neither was anyone else.

Gaza cannot support a population unless it is subsidized, and the USA is bankrupt. There are 22 Arab nations with a land area larger than the USA so let the 22 Arab nations absorb those people. Algeria is a good place because only Arabs live there.

They already live on the West Bank as well and can stay there as far as I'm concerned. And Algeria's population are Berbers and Moors as well as Arabs. Your suggestion is like saying Americans of European origin should relocate to Europe

We don't like big government; Europe drove us out once before. It looks as if with all the land and money that the Arabs have that they could solve the problem of Gaza themselves and the Saudis have led the way by saying that Israel has a right to exist and that the Palestinians should make peace or shut up. Most of this problem was caused by the British in the first place.

Israel has a right to exist but NOT at the expense of the inhabitants who were there prior to 1948

There you go again. In 1936, the UK gave 80% of the land to the Arabs--did you watch the video? If you want to get real technical, Mark Twain reported that the land was a desolate wasteland where no one lived in the 19th century. The UK is responsible for the current mess.

You are a lot older than I am so I am not going to challenge your memory of the mid 19th century. :D:D:D

Mark Twain visited Israel in 1867, and published his impressions in Innocents Abroad. He described a desolate country – devoid of both vegetation and human population:

“….. A desolate country whose soil is rich enough, but is given over wholly to weeds… a silent mournful expanse…. a desolation…. we never saw a human being on the whole route…. hardly a tree or shrub anywhere. Even the olive tree and the cactus, those fast friends of a worthless soil, had almost deserted the country.”

He was amazed by the smallness of the city of Jerusalem:

“A fast walker could go outside the walls of Jerusalem and walk entirely around the city in an hour. I do not know how else to make one understand how small it is.”

Mark Twain in the Holy Land

Like I said, he was wrong: the population of Palestine in the early 19th century was 350,000, in 1860 it was 411,000 and in 1900 about 600,000 of whom 94% were Arabs, Christian and Muslim. In 1914 Palestine had a population of 657,000 Muslim Arabs, 81,000 Christian Arabs, and 59,000 Jews

I find no link and you have not provided one. Twain visited the Holy Land and found it empty and desolate.

Palestine is the Roman insulting name for Israel. It is Latin for Philistine. While I concede that the Arabs have a barbaric religion, they really are not the Greek peoples from the Aegeann Islands who called themselves Philistines. Gaza is not viable and the USA should not give them a penny. Maybe the UN could be moved to Gaza...
