Daisy--if you read your military history of our "glory" war of WW2--you will note key Generals of the US(among them were Eisenhower, Bradley, & Patton---of the 3 & 4 Star variety) all wondering----up until the latest part of March 1945---whether they had the ability to defeat the German War Machine and if you read Steven Ambrose and other sources you will discover that the US had a "replacement" proceedure among its front line troops that was grossly misjudged---causeing perhaps thousands of unnecessary deaths in its combat soldiers!

Imagine that??? Just about every war we've ever fought in COULD be seen----as you say---as "badly conducted"-----but how do you conduct a war "goodly"----what is the definition of a "goodly conducted" war----name us a "goodly conducted" war!!! There isn't one!!!

I mean, during WW2----Hitlers High Command had planned "coup attempts" against him with plans to kill him and then set up talks of surrender with the Allies-----all along while Hitler was telling his High Command---that if they could just "hang in there"----the Allied forces would be fighting WW3 among themselves!!!!

That's all we need is to loose everything we have done in the Middle East and also in the fight against terrorism. If we were to pull out now, it would be a horrible mess---not because we went in, but, because we didn't finish the job.
