I came across this statement on FB, and itseemed like it would be something that would get theboard debaters involved and discussing an interesting question. As for the question, let's take it one step further and ask: Is God a Baptist, and if He were, which denomination would He closely identify with? The SBC? Or the ABC. ORTHE Fundamental Baptists?

One must first decide what a Christian is. The basic definition that I remember from way back is "A Christian is one in whom Christ dwells". With that definition, we need to then say "No, God is not a Christian." In order to be declared "Baptist", one must be a member of a Baptist church or by extension, could have been baptized in a Baptist church. Again, the answer would be "no".

Is a Christian a person that believes on or toward Christ, or is a Christian a person God has transferred into Christ and indwelt with Christ? Now Jesus is the Messiah, the Christ, the Anointed One, so God is Christ Himself.

So a godless person can be a professing Christian (Matthew 7) based on externals, but only a born anew person can be an actual Christian based on internals.

No, silly.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:1

And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.

I believe God would most closely identify with what I believe. Otherwise, I would change my beliefs.
