Is it a sin to vote for a pro-abortion candidate?

God does not leave us in the dark about the fact that we share in the guilt and sin of others by our role in placing men of poor moral standing in leadership position.

He tells us in His Word that He holds us accountable to some degree for their sins committed in office where they TOLD us what they would do and yet we put them in anyway.

22 Do not lay hands upon anyone too hastily and thereby share responsibility for the sins of others; keep yourself free from sin.


Trying to hide behind the apron strings of your priest or some other dodge won't Work. As God said "God is not mocked - you reap what you sow" Gal 6:7

When you elect a pro-abortion pro-homosexual (in terms of voting positions) into office - it is as though you have voted for those immoral policies directly.

In the old days it was a less-morally-fatal matter of "guns vs butter" or education vs cold-war-strategy.

In the past 3 or 4 elections it has been morality vs my-preferred-social-programs. It has been "sin in exchange for money going where I prefer it to go".

Christians should not pretend to be as confused by this as the world.

Christ said "IF you had no light you would have no sin. But you SAY that you SEE -- your sin remains"

We've experienced this first hand when our daughter got pregnant the end of her senior year in high school by a Catholic college boy. His 'devout Catholic' parents demanded an abortion.... we adopted the precious child and he'll be 10 on my 54th birthday.

The question is; is it a sin to vote for...?
So what is sin?
Whatsoever is not of faith, it is sin.
To him that knows to do right and does it not, to him it is sin.
Sin is the transgression of the law.
The soul that sinneth, it shall die.
The sons shall not die for the sins of the fathers.
These are all Scriptural precepts I am sure you all know.
Therefore, Putting it all together;
If you know abortion to be wrong,
If you know a certain man to be pro-abortion,
then it would be wrong to support that man with your vote.
However; HE will pay for his sin, and YOU will be acountable for yours.
His is supporting abortion, yours is supporting him.
His is hypocrisy in saying He believes in God while transgressing the law of God.
Yours is misplacing your faith from God to man.
Really pretty simple when you use Scripture to answer such questions.

Yes, voting for someone who is pro-abortion or pro-choise is a sin.

Senator Kerry and every other Catholic who is pro-choice are making a mockery of the Christian faith. They can claim that they are Catholic Christians all they want, but their words and choices do not support their claims.

A person cannot be a true Catholic yet be pro-choice. That would be the same as an alcoholic claiming that they do not have a drinking problem. Or a person claiming to trust Jesus for everything yet they consult with fortunetellers or play with the ouija board.

No. However, the principle of sowing and reaping the Kingdom of God doens't go out the window when voting. If you vote for someone, then you share in the responsibility for the actions of that someone. While it's not a sin... YOU WILL SOW WHAT YOU REAP... GOD IS NOT MOCKED! If you find the Devil is at work in your personal life, and wonder how he go there... perhaps he was connected to that Devil you voted for!!

Any vote you make should be with prayerful consideration as to which candidate is God's choice. Which candidate will bring the country closer to God's will for the country.

Take a look at Isreal in the old testament. Every time their leader was a Godly man, the nation prospered and things went well for them. Every time their leader was not a Godly man, the nation suffered and were often attacked by their enemies and in bondage.

Your PRIMARY voting concern should not be individual policy concerns, but rather #1 is this God's choice... #2 is this a Godly man who will lead the country towards God's will.

If these two concerns are met, then the country will prosper and our lives will be better. People think... I need to vote on the War... or I need to vote on the ecomomy. These are foolish - God is in control of nations and ecomomies.

Let's see. Is it alright to kill the unborn innocent? Is it alright to vote for a candidate who backs the position of killing the unborn innocent?
Is it okay and consistant with with Bible teaching to kill the guilty of murder? Is it ok to back a candidate who supports the Biblical position of punishing the guilty?
Is it ok to kill the innocent and save the guilty?

Is it okay to support gay marriage? Is it ok to support courts who are actively making law and not interpeting the law by the constitution?
Is it okay to have separation of church and state as stated in the constitution of th old defunct Soviet Union?
When abortion was a crime,when rape was a capitol crime and assault with a friendly weapon,when the 10 commandments were in the schools life was better. We did'nt have drive by shootings. Drugs were seldom an issue in our public schools, chewing gum and running in the hall were.People went to church on Sundays, that was mainstream.
All of this libralism has not moved us forward as a society,nation or as christians. I say stick to the Bible and you can't go wrong.

Suppose he further proposes to run up huge deficits that will bankrupt the country. But in order to sidetrack any moral outrage, he makes a huge commitment against abortion, hoping to distract all those who find stealing and vote buying to be morally repugnant by taking that "moral" stand. Sould he be voted for in that case?

Dude... the democrat leaders are evil people. You should go to a democratic ralley with Micheal Moore. He had a ralley here in Minnesota at the University of Minnesota last week. It wasn't televised, so they let loose. That party not only stands for abortion, homosexuality, etc, but they are actively seeking to subvert the country and strategicly and ACTIVELY seek to force their immoral will upon it. It is dark, evil, vile. A guy from my church does production, and they asked him last minute to help out with the internal production at the arena they venued at. He came back from that new republican activist (whereas before he didn't pay much attention to politics). He was telling us how the democratic people - espeicially Moore - were so steeped in darkness that it was revolting and oppressive to be there in the room. He was telling us how gross it was (when they thought that 'no one was watching' as the ralley was democrats only and wouldn't be televised) to see the ammount of hate coming out. He said that the vast majority of the hate was aimed at CHIRSTIANS!! Their hate was directed at christians because they see christians as the ones who resist their homosexual and abortion agendas. He was wearing a neclace with a cross and a Jewish star on it, and he tucked it under his shirt because he said the climate in the room was such that these people were thriving on hatred of christians, and he literally feared for his safty if anyone were to see it. He said they were practically mobbing their were so riled up with hatred. Who attended this? It was our U of M students!

Take a look at Isreal and Palestine. Why is there such fierce animosity? Partly because the palestinians teach their kindergardeners that it's their duty to hate and kill Jews. Are we starting to see the beginning of the same kind of polarization in America? Are our young people being indoctrinated in liberal churches to humanism? I think so.

If you vote for someone who supports abortion you have just put your stamp of approval on the immoral will they seek to impose on the rest of the country.

It depends on whether you equate the two - the continued murder of innocents against inflated contracts to contibutors.

I would have to say that I personally don't believe it is wrong to vote for a pro-abortion candidate. I have up until this election, voted for a pro-abortion candidate for congress. Why? Because he was the better choice. The anti-abortion candidates who ran against this legislator were bozo's who couldn't tie their shoes and chew gum at the same time. Should I vote for an inept person just because he says "Hey, I'm a pro-life Christian"? I don't think so. I'm not one to "check my brain" at the door and let someone else do my thinking for me.
