If it is a tubal pregnancy the Doctor should not just murder the baby. He/she should do all they can to help it survive. You might want to read this. Fact Sheet on Ectopic Pregnancy (personhoodinitiative.com) As for this statement; "No one can be expected to risk their life for another, even if it’s their child." All I can say is wow. The mid wives in Egypt risked their lives for other's children and you think we should not risk ours for our own. That is your choice to believe that, but it is SAD!

Let me clarify my poorly worded statement.

The question isn’t whether someone would or should risk their life for their child, but whether it’s murder if they don’t.

There was a fire in our neighborhood about twenty years ago. A young mother and her baby were trapped in a burning home. The father attempted several times to recuse them, but was unsuccessful. They both died, and the father died a few days later from horrible burns over much of his body.

Some may admire him for attempting to rescue them. Others may have thought him foolish for the repeated attempts when he had already been forced out because of the flames.

Whatever else you may call him, I wouldn’t have called him a murderer if he had decided not to risk his life in the fire.

If a mother that has been told by her doctor that her medical situation is so perilous that to attempt to bring a pregnancy to full term will lead to death for her and the baby, I will not call her a murderer if she has an abortion.

We can disagree, however, and I appreciate your candid responses.

    peace to you

I am not sure how that story has anything at all with abortion. In EVERY case abortion is murder, no exceptions. The reason is that abortion has one goal and that is to put to death the unborn baby. The agenda of abortion IS NEVER to try and save the baby. However, when we honor the Lord and follow His, "you shall not murder," even in times when a baby needs to be taken early, we will do all we can to save the baby alive. Again, ALL abortion is murder/sin.

And so we disagree. In the case of a woman whose medical condition is such that an attempt to bring a pregnancy to term means certain death for her and the baby, I do not believe she is a murderer if she has an abortion.

All abortion takes a life. Not all abortion is murder.

BTW, medically, women have spontaneous abortions (miscarriages) all of the time. I saw one study that stated up to 70% of fertilized eggs never implant in the womb.

    Peace to you

This might be a little bit off OP but...
Just saw this tidbit about the TV show Survivor

"This might surprise you, but it turns out that the producers on Survivor have some quite peculiar concerns when it comes to their contestants. According to website The Things, participants are offered birth control during filming to prevent any island-related mishaps. But they only offer it to the female participants."

Does that mean they aren’t afraid the men might get pregnant? Never know these days.

I never understood the idea of putting your life in display for all to see. I just couldn’t do it.

    peace to you
