Please explain why or why not you believe it either is or isn't a sin.
Were one to tithe his winnings, I doubt that his pastor would think so.
Here in WA State it's called a "voluntary tax" because while the winnings go to the ticket buyer the unwon proceeds go to the WA school system.

Actually, I know of a church that refused the tithe of the winnings.
I have also heard it referred to as the "Idiot Tax".

Bad use of money, yes. Unless I win. hahaha.
I rarely gamble like that, though.
That's my thoughts as well. I don't see anything wrong with the act of gambling, but like anything it can be taken too far. It's just another form of entertainment. I personally have never played the lottery. I'd rather have the big gulp.I don't know if there's much of a difference between somebody spending a dollar for a lottery ticket or a dollar for a Big Gulp. :laugh:

If it is a bad use of money it is bad stewardship and it is sin.I don't know that I think it is a sin.
