Looking back at the poll, I don't remember checking any but the alcohol related items.

I have no problem with those who wish to consume alcohol MODERATELY, but for me personally it's basically taboo for two very emphatic reasons:

    1) I don't want to take the chance that I would become an alcoholic. I have partook of various forms of alcohol in the past (in the Army) and really feel that if I started social drinking, it could very well become addictive for me. Maybe not, but why chance it????

    2) I want absolutely NO PART of causing some Christian , (or anyone for that matter), to see me drinking and deduce from that that it's OK to partake. Refer back to #1 for the reason.

I do enough to hurt my witness unknowingly, without consciously adding to it.

Remember, we are not to use our liberty when it can cause a brother/sister to stumble.

Taboo TO me and Taboo FOR me are different.
There are things I wouldn't do that might be ok for others to do.

Most of the things on the list are not really taboo to me. I do not drink or smoke, but I know many other Christians do. I personally think smoking ruins your body and is always addictive once you really have started smoking. I think bonding yourself is not a wise thing. I do not consider drinking a problem as long as it is one or two glasses. Still I am not sure what to vote in the poll. I know to some people things are taboo, like television, and to others they are not. It is what you do with television and other things that matters most to me in this case.
