Romans 1 shows the man does know God, and his sinful nature supresses this truth. They stand condemned. Romans 3 concludes there are none righteous; no not one.

So it does take divine intervention through Jesus Christ for salvation. Without Jesus Christ (who is the ONLY way, truth and life) there is no salvation.

So John Doe in Siberia can "know" God, but will still go to an eternal hell because he does not have faith in the Messiah. Sad, but true.

To believe that man, without a knowledge of Jesus, can be "saved" is contra-indicated in Scripture a hundred times over.

:eek: BTW, this particular thread is one of the least hospitable things I've seen on the BB of late. Think some of you all must have been sipping on pickle juice over the holidays . . . :eek:

Why do you not answer my simple question?
Sorry, but I cannot do so at this time. At this time I am studying the issue of hell. Until I resolve some questions in my mind on that issue, I cannot answer your question. And it may be well into next year or longer before that happens.

But I will say this as a postmillennialist that I certainly believe as did the great Calvinistic Baptist preacher of London, Charles Haddon Spurgeon, that the Lord's people will outnumber the devil's people as Jesus has the pre-eminence, not the devil.

I am not able to state anything beyond that at this time.

</font>
Sounds like you do not want to answer the question. I understand, if I were in your position, I would not want to answer either.

Terry,

I cannot answer at this time, but it has nothing to do with the Calvinism/non-Calvinism issue.

Psalm 115:3 God sits in the heavens and does whatever He pleases.

WHY do we ,as people, try so hard to define God's mercy and justice into our finite minds.

GOD IS HOLY and very hard to understand in our sinfullness.

Terry, I will answer your Question.

YES, sadly there will be billions of people in HELL.

Why do you try to understand Gods justice in the context of our limited understanding of justice?

Yes, you might. But, that would be an attempt to avoid the original question asked by me and shift our attention elsewhere...

The example of Christ's murder is on point here. If God ordained the greatest sin that man ever committed, why would it be difficult to accept that God has ordained lesser sins?</font>
There is no such thing as a lesser sin! :confused: Sin is sin and none is worse than another.

</font>
In the sense that all sin is sin, I agree. However, we can argue that certain sins are more heinous than others...at least within this temporal plane.

But my point here is that God has ordained sin (the murder of Christ was predestined by God). It is a difficult truth to accept but a truth nonetheless.
