Is this in reality a question about monotheism vs polytheism?

Good optimized word “probably”Nah...it would be boring. RC Sproul, DA Carson, JI Packer, Albert Mohler, ....just about every pastor I can think of....made the same point when the "I died and saw heaven" books and movies came out. Most who never had read Revelation probably turned to chapter 20 anyway to check out their claims.
Because I have heard many wrongly claim that he is in hell today (for example, see the link that I posted in message #9). There are many important reasons why that conclusion is wrong. Why are you asking this?
The Bible does not say that Solomon "fell away from the faith." In fact, it says that was not what happened:Solomon apparently fell away from the faith when he started worshiping the pagan demon gods his outlandish wives led him to. Was he ever restored to repentance to return to the true faith in the only real God?

(It isn't about Solomon's faithfulness, it is about God's faithfulness.)
Just a side comment, the OT characters, who wrote the Old Testament were under the influence of the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Christ. Scripture specifically precludes that any OT saint, chosen for salvation, was regenerated before Christ died. That is why they had to wait to be made perfect.Solomon wrote Ecclesiastes, the Song of Solomon, most of the Book of Proverbs, and at least one Psalm. I do not believe that God used unregenerate people to write His holy word. His sins are troubling but I am sure that he is in heaven.
I disagree. You are making far too much out of a single mention of " Abraham's bosom" in a parable which makes no comment as to what that bosom represents.Just a side comment, the OT characters, who wrote the Old Testament were under the influence of the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Christ. Therefore a person can be "inspired" and not be "regenerated." But the issue of the OP is still valid. Had Solomon been chosen to be saved, and thus heading for Abraham's bosom, before He could be "inspired?"
Yes, we disagree. But my post is NOT based only on the "single" mention of where OT saints were taken when they died. Jesus was the first, sequentially born from the dead. Thus the first, sequentially to be "regenerated" or brought to life. Evey born anew person followed Christ in the regeneration. No one was regenerated before Christ died providing the means of reconciliation.I disagree.
