According to historical orthodoxy. KJVO is a new doctrine that has not basis in the Bible or in the orthodox doctrines of the Bible, and no true believer should be persuaded by it. It is merely an attack on God's word. IF you took the time to study, you would know that true orthodox biblical scholarship has always been supportive of modern versions, just as they were in 1611.

Good Word...

I would add that if we are "Precept" based instead of straining at a gnat exact word based, the above is exceptionally correct.

Understanding what God is trying to communicate is not always appreciated in the KJV... That's why we have Bibles in many languages...

These tend to be Precept based rather than exact word for word translations simply because the target audience doesn't think in "English".

Because I was raised on the KJV I didn't understand even a Bible as simple as the NIV for several readings because I was not well enough studied to know what was behind the words I was reading.

The more my Biblical Knowledge has expanded the better I am able to read, understand and appreciate other English Translations.

There are many times the KJV more closely relates the Precepts involved as I understand them from the Spirits interaction in my life. Other times the NIV, the Amplified, or even Youngs Literal "clicks" better and most closely matched what I am "sensing" in the Spirit.

Understand that the "spirits" are always checked against and for "Orthodoxy" by seeing what the Commentators and other Orthodox writers have to say about a given subject. (see 1 John 4:1)

Sometimes a comentators bias becomes quite plain to see when you dig through many fo them...

But, I am running a bit long in the tooth... :)

PS: The mark of a good teacher is the ability to communicate the same Precept using several different methods...
