Is the church really good at meeting needs of its people?

I am looking for a new place to live and have requested assistance from them but have not heard back. CraigsList is very competitive I am finding out in the Denver housing market.

Have you called again? Maybe they don't know of anyplace. Pastors are not miracle workers if the market is competitive.

Since he is single- may have do due with an efficiency apt.
I've already checked apartments.com and Zillow; very few studio apartments available. All low-income apartments are full. One bedroom apartments starting around $700.

I'm late to this thread. Is the topic that Evan is disappointed his church is not helping him in an apartment search? Is that it?

Yep.

Evan - It is not your pastor's or deacon's jobs to find you an apartment. You are perfectly capable of doing that yourself. There are times that a church will step in to help with the needs of someone but in this case, finding you an apartment is really your own responsibility. If they happen to know of someplace, that's great but they obviously don't. Don't fault them for that. Pastors aren't God and all knowing.

Here is the OP:
I wonder is the church that good at meeting needs of its people? I have a need and all people do is pray for it but I have seen no action. People are not dependable. Perhaps people can't help or perhaps they choose not to because of greed. Perhaps we need more with the gift of helps.

David Platt wrote a book called Radical but I bet much of it has been forgotten so many years later. What say you?

Hmmm I wonder if there is a landlord in the church and Evan thinks that the Landlord should give him a ridiculously low monthly rent amount? Is that what he meant by some in the church choose not to help because of greed?

So Evan - would you consider a roommate?
Oh silly me - you dont like to answer my questions

I am looking for roommates yes. It's just the CraigsList competition is very tight. Lord willing the place I will look at tomorrow will fit perfectly.

Glad you are considering that option.

This is a tad off topic but- When I first arrived in Germany as a young GI - I asked the Lord to send
a Christian my way so that I could have some good Christian fellowship. Long story short, The Lord did
lead me to someone one ( who also was a Baptist!) and we had a great relationship. Unfortunately, this old guy has
a bad memory - and I cannot recall his name. Would love to get back in contact with him.
No we were not roommates- but it was a blessing to know him - - and to know that the Lord answers prayers

PS long story may come later.
