This brings up a question. Are you making this statement from the view that the Gospels are true, or are you for this thread assuming the Gospels are true to present a question?Assume for the moment that the Gospels are true.
The battle of the cross and the ongoing struggle was not just of and for the blue marble we call earth. The Creator of the Universe conquered sin and death on this battlefield. Were they conquered only on this world? or were they conquered here universally for all time and eternity?
The defacto presupposition, especially of those who consider themselves educated, is that the consensus of scientists is true. Many may not realize it, but the idea that the sun, moon and stars were created for a purpose, and that the purpose may be in regard to those who observe them from earth, is really a foreign idea to them. This brings up a question. So, are the events on earth central to God's plan for the universe? The battle of the cross and the ongoing struggle was not just of and for the blue marble we call earth.
For example here are two statements from Scriptures to show that eternal time and matters were at stake.
Paul said, " For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.
We are given the statement by Christ, " When I saw Him, I fell at His feet like a dead man. And He placed His right hand on me, saying, “Do not be afraid; I am the first and the last, and the living One; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades.

They may think they believe the Gospels, but they really believe the textbooks and subscribe to the conclusions of Naturalistic scientists, that the stars merely exist, and that we have arbitrarily assigned meaning to them.
My statement says, put the conclusions of the Evangelists above all else for now.
So, are the events on earth central to God's plan for the universe?
An honest answer, and gets to the heart of the matter.I think that this thing would be for eternity if everything in the Gospels was true. Do not get me wrong, i try to leave my mind open to everything. From all we read it is somehow normal to believe we are the centre of God's plans. If for you the example provided makes it clear, it's okay, but i think those signs are everywhere in Gospels and The New Testament. So if it is all true it is obvious to me that your question is actually a statement.
