Actually, they were developed and nurtured by these pastors and I had to leave the church to unlearn what they had taught me.

That's a fair question and one that I would be inclined to answer after I have a settled position on this issue.

Aaah...when I selected that as a handle I guess I should've understood that it would keep me from quoting from the 1769. I will request a name change so that I meet your expectations.

I'm off to bed - maybe I'll see in the morning the story of how your KJV became flesh.

Either that or he only desires to quote from Bibles written in 3 AD? :)

I would be less concerend with who is calling him a heretic and more concerned with the fact that he made a heretical statement.

I've stood by false teachers before...the truth was clear when I examined the teaching rather than the person.

If true, one better be reading the original text language, lest one be serving more than one God.

Wait! Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek......here we go again...

I know it's in the thread title...

But I think it bears repeating, because I see us going that direction.

I don't think this is about the King James Version.

I would have a problem if Mister Anderson claimed the Living Bible or NASV to be synonymous with Jesus Christ.

The heart of the problem is not KJVO. It's that this "pastor" is messing around with the Trinity.

For someone who claims to be "fundamental," well...you can't get more fundamental than God in Three Persons.

And when ya mess with that, you've messed with a building block of our faith...errant views of the trinity for centuries plagued some in the church. That's not a theological tenet I'd want to play around with.

This whole thing comes down to this...which is greater-book or AUTHOR?

    And........

Is Anderson rational? I doubt it. I have corresponded with him before, on other boards, & his views are...well...DIFFERENT, to put it mildly.

How are you suggesting I should enhance my HONESTY?

Does this type reasoning suggest that God did not exist until 1611? Is the King James Bible the Creator of the world? Did the King James Bible make itself? Does the King James Bible have all the attributes of God?

Even if it is claimed that God made or directly inspired the KJV, it would be a work or creation of God and not God Himself.

"for shall the work say of him that made it, He made me not" (Isa. 29:16)

 That guy is such a stooge. I would feel sorry for him if he wasn't so adamant about such things including the spirit in which he delivers them. It's frightening that there are men like this who consider themselves spiritual leaders.

I wonder what the church did before 1611?

    Yes---it is true

    God will always be God

A book cannot be God---that is, I am assuming you are referring to the Bible??!! Which in that case, you are right---the Bible is not God.

BUT at the same time the Bible is not God----the words from the Bible are from Him-----when the Bible speaks, God speaks----you cannot seperate the inspired word of God from the incarnate word of God. There is no difference betwen obeying the written word of God and obeying God---for when you obey the written word of God you are obeying God.

The two are inseperable---not identical---but inseperable!!!

None of the pople I know who follow the KJVO thought believe that the KJV is God. I am far from being KJVO, yet I do not believe that any Bible version is God. There is a big difference between the word of God (scripture) and the Word of God (Jesus Christ). Anyone who believes Christ and scripture are one and the same should be reading his Bible more and not following all these outright heresies. No book was ever nailed to the cross to die for our sins. Likewise, we cannot print, bind and put a leather cover on Jesus Christ. Anyone who believes the Bible (any version) is God is, as robycop3 says, "a few fries short of a Happy Meal."

    :D
