Is there any other names mistaken as proper nouns?

Depends on the "we".

Some have mistaken "Satan" as a name.
Some have mistaken "Christ" as a name.
We usually say "the Devil", do I cane see how some could make thst error.

But I suspect very few think that "Christ" is Jesus' name or that, "Satan", or "Lucifer" is the name of the Devil.
Those errors are too easily remedied with even a little time devoted to studying God's Word.

Those who think Jesus' nzme is "Christ" or Satan's name is "Lucifer" have simply not studied the Bible in any serious way. They are probably the same people who think our loved ones who have passed are in Heaven looking down on us and guiding us.

Why Satan can't be a name?

If you name your dog "Satan" it can be a name ;)

I the Bible "satan" means accuser or adversary. We usually say "Satan" as if it were a name but it is "the satan" or "the accuser".
Isn't Jacob also adversary or something?

Please define when a name is a.name.

"He who supplants".

A name designates a person or thing. A tree, Reggie, Mike, etc.

"Jesus of Nazareth". Jesus is the name, "of Nazareth" is not but it narrows down the individual.

We have last names for this. But if there were two Jon's, one old (me) one young (not me) you could say "the older JonC". But "the older" is not oart of my name.

God have many names including, Holy, Prince of Peace, King of kings,...
Those are titles. He gave one actual name (other than Jesus) and it's translated it is "I Am".

But yes, there are many titles we use as names to describe how God is known.
The God who sees, the God who hears . . .
