I know it's a mistake. And it was made twice--in in the headline and in the caption. Where was the proof reader?

If it were going twice the speed of light 30 miles above mean sea level, that would be 15.9 orbits per second.
Of course, at waaaay past escape velocity, it would be extremely difficult to maintain orbit.
