Oh no, I understood exactly what you meant. Good stewards don't give their gifts away to bad stewards. The Palestinians obviously had no interest in peace. Ever. Bush & Rice wasted a lot of time, money, & cost both sides lives with their failed dream.

It is a biblical principle that both the U.S. & Israel would do good not to forget.

The whole situation over there is tragic. I feel great sorrow for the civilians on both sides. :tear: :praying:

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Ps 122:6).

The Jews and Philistines are ancient enemies, and I believe we all know from Scripture that Judah will increase in wealth and power. The first 7 verses of Zech.9 prophesy what will happen to the Philistines. Some have already come to pass. For example, Ashdod is indeed occupied by a "foreigh people".(The Jews are foreigners to the Philistines)

We have two unalterably-opposed points of view about the land. The Philistines say the land was given to them by the Romans some 1900 years ago, & that they have lived there ever since, while the Jews say the land was given to them by GOD long before that, and that the Philistines have it only because the Romans expelled the Jews. Neither side will alter its view one iota, and Israel is realizing that concessions with the Philistines won't work, and that war is inevitable. We all know that a full-scale attack by Israel would wipe out mosta the Philistines in 3 days or less, and those peoples are moving inexorably toward that day.

The Philistines just don't seem to realize their little pinprick incidents don't weaken Israel one bit; they only make them more angry and ready to destroy the Philistines once and for all.

Will this event trigger a greater war? I don't think so. Russia isn't in any financial position to wage war outside of Russia, and Scripture doesn't point toward any large war erupting over the Jews' dealing with the Philistines.

And what of the Philistines that Zechariah says will be greatly honored in Jerusalem? I believe those will be the Philistines who will cooperate with Israel in pointing out Philistine strongholds & HQs to the Jews. And what about Ekron's becoming "as a Jebusite"? History indicates that the surviving Jebusites, after David took Jerusalem from them, were slowly absorbed into the Jews. Even today, there is more than one Palestinian married into a Jewish family and vice versa.

I don't see the present situation easing completely without war.

Menachem Begin was considered a terrorist in his early days. He belonged to the terrorist organization Irgun, yet in his later days, he negoiated the Camp David accords with Sadat. There has been peace between Israel & Egypt since then, a quarter of a century.

The Palestinians, from what I understand, chose Hamas because it was seen as well organized and not corrupt. unlike its rival PLA. Hamas actually has done much of the best charitable work for the Palestinians.

Hamas has not been shy about engaging in terrorism - that's undeniable - but way more Palestinian civilians are killed by Israelis than vice versa. They see themselves as freedom fighters and they don't appear to be self-serving. It's possible that these hardliners will achieve more for their people through negotiation than the corrupt Arafat was able to.

    Bottom line....

If Islam laid down their arms, there would be world peace, tomorrow.

If Israel laid down her arms, there would be no Israel tomorrow.
