We will just have to agree to disagree on this subject of Israel attacking Iran against the wishes of the federal government of these United States as well, brother.

May our Father bless you with a pleasant night's sleep.

Assuming we both are on the same page with this, why do you think this support should come from the USA? Why not individual Christians? Where in the Bible does it tell the USA to support Israel?

Also, support can be found in so many ways without money, arms and such. Why are you so hung up on the monetary support?

What version other than the KJV are you quoting? I don't see it saying Nations. I see it saying families of the earth...

From what I read, this is what the 1611 KJV reads:

[SIZE=+1]12:3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that
curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be
    blessed.

I should have looked it up in my Bible first. I did an AOL search.

I would guess the term "families" would mean nations and the people that bless and protect Israel.

Families could legitimately be translated nations as well in this passage.

    Galatians 3:6-9 (KJV)
6: Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.
7: Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.
8: And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.
9: So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.

So, I ask again, does the U.S. current foreign policy bless, or curse Israel ?

The US was the first country to recognize Israel.
In 1951 the US provided the first aid to Israel, to help Israel take in Holocaust survivors.

Israel has received more direct aid from the United States since World War II than any other country. As the Israeli economy has grown, they have not required as much.

From 1973-2000, the Security Council adopted approximately 90 resolutions on the Middle East, most of them hostile to Israel. The U.S. vetoed a total of 33 resolutions. The US was often their only defender in the world body, and Israel has voted with the US on virtually all issues.

During the 1973 Yom Kippur war, when Egypt refused to accept a cease-fire and the Soviets airlifted resupply to the Arab states, the United States airlift of weapons and supplies to Israel enabled them to recover and to defend themselves.

After the Yom Kipper War, the US increased aid to Israel fourfold. Cooperation has included programs for sharing technology and intelligence, conducting joint military exercises, researching and developing new weapons, and establishment of joint anti-terrorism strategies. Israel and the US collaborated on the ARROW missile defense system, enabling Israel to defend against missile attack.

Overall, the US has been a blessing to Israel.

God says yer either with him, or against him. Overall isn't mentioned. He doesn't tell us to temper our bad actions with good ones.

I say our current policies curse them. They would be better off without our help. They need to turn to their true saviour, and not rely on friends like Bush & Rice.

I doubt if the Israelis themselves would feel better off without our help, though I haven't taken a poll.
Frequently in the Bible, God has expressed his care for his own through human actions, and sent help by way of foreign peoples. It's how He usually operates in this age. Very seldom do we see Him rend the heavens and take up the sword.

And meanwhile, we've created the biggest welfare state on earth. Israel thumbs her nose at their saviour, and we keep arming her enemies.

How much of Bush's PA package will go to building Gaza infrastructure, and how much will go into rockets bound for the Israeli citizens ?

I, for one, am sick of it, and want to try something else. I don't want one more dollar sunk into that mess.

Comes a time that the biggest assistance you can give is to cut the apron strings.

God blesses those who send aid to His chosen people. If America turns its back on Israel, God will turn His back on us.

I have admiration for the way you ignore poeple's points, and repeat your own.

We allready turned our back on Israel, by not allowing her to defend herself, and encouraging her to give up her own land & assets so's to make it easier for her enemies to kill her civilians.

I am ashamed of both Bush & Rice when it comes to Israel.
