You have not made your case scripturally. Nor have you refuted mine. You are like many others on these boards who have a theology built off a single verse without context and comparison. Acts 13:48 and the Reformed comes to mind. If you were to have logical points you are not willing to present them, choosing the high ground of one liners, like above, for the most part.


You sure had an opportunity to convince me that God had given you some light on the subject. You lost me when you insisted the scriptures conform to your calendar as if it had more authority in this discussion.

Thanks anyway. I have actually enjoyed reading and meditating on these wonderful events where my salvation was made possible and made secure through our Savior Jesus Christ and his cross and resurrection. To fully understand the testimony of God concerning the time frame is not necessary for us to be saved but God’s testimony of his Son surely is. I think we agree on that. That third day since those events were done was the first day of the week.
The second day since would be the Sabbath.

I don't know what happened there, I tried to quote your post and it just said "loading" but never did so I gave up. What I was going to say was that the women set out for the tomb on Saturday evening, the Sabbath, when they got to the tomb it was "yet dark", on the first day. Jesus was raised at the same time he was put in the tomb, ie between Sabbath and First Day, after exactly 72 hours.

Those who use third day with the explanation that part of a day is used for a day, forget that Jesus said he would rise after three days, and the Jews remembered that
Mark 8:31 And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and of the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.
Matthew 27:63 Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again.

Some have said that the disciples may not have known about the sealing of the tomb, but that is nothing more than a speculative comment.

Anything about Friday is speculation.

I think the tomb was sealed around 7pm the evening of that Friday as in 7pm of Thursday after the Passover had ended. I don't think the tomb was sealed on Wednesday at 7pm. That would have been the Passover Sabbath.

During the Passover, the chief priests rembered what Jesus said, but approached Pilate after 6pm when the Passover ended. The tomb had no soldiers guarding it on the Passover. That happened on Friday until Sunday when the angel rolled back the stone.

No. Wrong on two counts. 30AD the Passover was on Wedensday. 33AD the Passover was on Friday.
Also per Mark 14:12-16 the Passover was the day before Jesus was crucified.

The preparation for the Passover was on the 14th. The Passover started at 6pm. The evening that begins the Passover. The Lamb was slain on the preparation of the Passover. The day started at 6pm, not midnight.

Thursday would be the Sabbath. The Lamb was not killed after the angel passed over starting at 6pm. On the morning of the 14th was when preparation began for the Passover at 6pm. Jesus was in the Tomb Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. From evening of Wednesday to evening of Saturday.

A Passover on Wednesday is the only day of the week that works with all Biblical accounts of the crucifixion. Yahshua was in the grave "three days and three nights" Matthew 12:40. From Wednesday just before sunset [even] to Saturday just before sunset [even] is three days and three nights. The fact that the day following Yahshua's crucifixion was a Sabbath (Mark 15:42, Luke 23:52-54, & John 19:31) does not prove He was crucified on a Friday. According to the Law of Moses, the day following Passover (which is also the first day of the feast of unleavened bread) is also, always a Sabbath day of rest to be observed like the 7th day weekly Sabbath no matter what day of the week it falls on. (See Leviticus 23:4-8, Numbers 28:16-18, and take special notice of John 19:31 again. The Sabbath immediately following Yahshua's crucifixion was no ordinary Sabbath.)

Understanding that it was a Wednesday Passover and crucifixion also solves apparent conflicts in the Gospel records. In Luke 23:55,56 it says that the women (Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of James) went and prepared anointing spices and oils BEFORE the Sabbath. In Mark 16:1 it says that they bought them AFTER the Sabbath! The answer lies is in the fact that there are two different Sabbaths being referred to here. The women both bought and prepared the spices on the same day. The day of the week was Friday. When Mark says they bought the spices AFTER the Sabbath, the Sabbath he is referring to was the special Thursday Sabbath ...the first day of unleavened bread that followed the day of Passover. When Luke says they prepared the spices and then rested the Sabbath, the Sabbath he is referring to is Saturday ...the weekly Sabbath.

There is also proof found in Matthew 28:1 that there were two Sabbaths. Most Bible translations render this word "Sabbath" in the singular because translators, believing the traditional Friday crucifixion scenario, couldn't make any sense of the fact that the Greek manuscripts all render this word in the plural. This fact can be verified by anyone with a Greek interlinear translation or Greek lexicon. Matthew 28:1 therefore should read, "Now after the SABBATHS as the first day of the week began to dawn...".

Therefore, for all the records to add up it must be concluded that Yahshua was crucified on a Wednesday.

This is very bad reasoning for the simple reason that scripture says it is” the” Sabbath. It is not “a” Sabbath.

It was the Sabbath that was an high day, not a high day that was a sabbath. There is a difference.

Your point is that a high Sabbath is a feast day. That means that Thursday, the 15th of Nissan 30AD was a high Sabbath, and made that day of the week a Sabbath Day. That week in 30AD there were Two Sabbath days that week. Thursday and Saturday were the two Sabbaths. My claim was there were 3 days in 30AD that fulfulled the claim Jesus made. You just pick 33AD from tradition and claim the high Sabbath was just Saturday that year.
