Yeah and it was a healthy Avs team that Detroit dominated in the regular season so no excuses there. Not to mention that injuries are part of the game. You have to play through them so there really is no excuse.

Here is a hanky if you need it!

I made it through two overtimes last night before I just had to go to bed - it only took the stars four ots to win it.

What incredible goal tending by both teams - in the words of Darrel Razor Ray, a coulple of Turcos unbelieveable saves were "TURCOLICIOUS!"

I TIVOed or at least tired to TIVO the overtime so that I could see it today - unfortunatly I stopped recording at 1:00 AM so I missed the fourth ot!!!

If Turco and the Stars, who are relatively healthy can maintain this level of play, they will give the wings everything they can handle

The play of Turco is the big "if". He has a terrible record against the Wings for some reason.

I am going to say Detroit in 6

He does have a bad record vs the wings - but he did beat detroit for the first time this year, so he has that going for him. He is also playing phenomenol hockey right now. He stopped something like 61 shots last night plus he has Zubov back playing at seemingly full strength. Look for lots of OT in this series - at least none of it is on the west coast, the games should start at reasonable times.

Unfortunately all the games are on Verses - no more Razor Ray for me. I have verses so I will be able to see all the games - but wish the NHL has some different choices!

I've heard that if you have TIVO that you can sync it up with the radio broadcast on WBAP on the radio or via the Internet and be able to watch the action on TV and still listen to Ralph and Razor.

Frankly, I don't have TIVO but it is tempting to forego watching the game on TV and just listen to the Stars radio broadcast and just watch the highlights on the Internet.

The NHL editor for Yahoo! Sports predicts Red Wings to win in 5 games. As a Stars fan I can't really argue with his prediction. The Red Wings are probably the class of the Stanley Cup playoff field this year. They are probably unstoppable unless they don't take the Stars seriously I seriously doubt that will happen. But let's drop the puck and see what happens anyway. :)

I will probably be turning the sound down, I'll have to do some research on the synching WBAP with the TIVO. I get my signal from Direct TV which is usually a second or two delayed - my dad and I have "watched" a game together - he from houston me in dallas, he always saw the live play a bit before me.

As to the Red Wings in 5 - before the addition of Smith I would have agreed. Dallas now has three legitimate lines, Morrow has taken the C and is playing at an incredible level, Modano is anchoring the checking line and is still very dangerous. Turco is the question. If Detroit freaks him out, it will be the wings in 4 or 5. If he continues at this level, I see seven games and have no idea who will win - but I see lots of bonus hockey with high drama and great plays from both teams

I agree the the Dallas fans that Turco will be the key. He has played great in the playoffs but so did Theodore before he played the Wings. And Ellis was great against Detroit but Wings still prevailed. They were just to deep offensively.

I know people say the regular season does not mean much but the numbers all favor the Wings.

I am seeing a lot of talk online in the sports media that Turco has been a better player in the playoffs than Christ Osgood. But when you look at the stats I don´t see how you can say that.
Osgood GAA 1.57 Best in playoffs
Turco GAA 1.73 Second best in playoffs.

    Osgood SV% .937
    Turco SC% .929

Also not only is Turcos history against the wings awful. Osgood´s best record is against Dallas.

I think Chris is one of the most underrated tenders in the NHL. He does have a Cup already under his belt and loads of playoff experience.

I know you think Osgood is great - and hey his stats back that up - but you might want to edit your first line :)

Maybe they are factoring in the level of the two opponents each goalie has faced, especially in the second round.
