My very healthy 80 year old father had a stroke on Thursday, the 7th. He was air-lifted out of state to Jackson, MS and we were there with him for 6 days.

He passed away yesterday.

It's all such a shock. Please pray for my mother who is devastated.

He was a great and godly man. I just can't even begin to explain how wonderful he was.

My family covets your prayers.

I'm so sorry to hear that. What a heartache. You, your mother, and your family will be in my prayers. I pray that God will comfort all of you.

How comforting to know we shall be gathered together in His kingdom in eternity.

My mother was saved late in life. I will meet my Savior God first then my loved ones.

2 Corinthians 1:3 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;

May He comfort you.

Paul told us to say this in times like these:
1 Thess 4:16

16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

Dearest Sister, my heart goes out to you and my prayers go up to God for you and your family. I lost my mommy in 2012 and daddy in 2015, so I know something about what you are dealing with.

When it comes out of nowhere, death is harder to take than when you're expecting someone to die. I know you are grieving, but try to think of all the good times you had with him. If he was the God-fearing man you say he was, think of these verses..."Therefore, being always of good courage, and knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord--for we walk by faith, not by sight-- we are of good courage, I say, and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord."[2 Corinthians 5:6-8] Your daddy is no longer in pain, and is in the presence of his Lord and Saviour. He is better off than we are.

I know these words may sound hollow, but he is where he has been wanting to go to for a long time.

I'm so sorry. Losing a parent is a terrible loss.

I will be keeping you in prayer in the days to come as you work through the grief and make those adjustments we have to make when we lose a parent.
