J C Penny?

When the news came out about Ellen being J C Penny's spokesperson I was disappointed that this company would head in that direction. I use to shop there often. I buy most of my clothes a Penny's. I quit shopping there when this was announced. Today I heard of a same-sex ad they are now displaying in their catalog, see link: http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/business/2012/05/jc-penney-features-same-sex-couple-in-may-catalogue/

I think this goes way too far for any Christian to still be shopping at J C Penny's. I'm asking for Christians to stop shopping at their stores. If we send this signal we can make a difference in our country if it isn't too late.

The ad in the catalogue is a deal breaker for me. Especially with the ridiculous and double entrendre title "freedom of expression". But them hiring Ellen as a spokesperson was not.

Unless Ellen was going to be promoting a homosexual agenda speaking AS the spokesperson of J.C. Penney and claiming to represent J.C. Penney's views, then I didn't see the issue. Homosexual people have right to a job, including jobs that put them in the national limelight.

But the ad in the catalogue clearly promotes an agenda that I cannot agree with. I never shopped at Penny's so it won't affect me, but I can understand some might not shop there anymore.

Well put, I have to agree with your statement. Look at all the people who live together outside of marriage, many are teachers, doctors and workers in all kinds of employment.

Just giving you a hard time here:
Oatmeal raisin cookies that disguise themselves as chocolate chip cookies
are one of the contributing factors as to why I have trust issues.
Oatmeal raisin cookies are the best. I always believed it was the chocolate disguise as an oatmeal raisin cookies, what a disappointment to bite into one and find out it is chocolate chip and not a raisin.

J C Pennys has been in a long slow decline in sales and profits.

They are desperate and grasping at anything that they think will change things for them.

I don't see how this will help.

Plenty of people will now decide not to shop there even if only for a short while.

But I don't really see many people deciding to shop there specifically because of this campaign strategy.

When Ellen was named spokesperson I was saddened that Penney's would use a openly Lesbian to promote their goods, but I'm with you the placing of ads that are blatantly homosexual is the straw that breaks the camels back.

I was appauled several years ago at J C Penney when they placed pictoral ads in their stores of women barely clothed. I was in one of their stores and saw a very young boy staring at a huge ad with a woman drapped in a small scarf, that was it. I admit it was alluring, and seeing this liitle boy gazing at it really mad me mad. I stopped shopping there and spoke about it when I had the chance. I said all this to say it isn't necessarliy the homosexual agenda by Penney's that has me appauled, it is just the sexual immorality in general. They have always gone to far with it. Hardees is another place I'm thinking of not giving my business, have you seen their ads on TV with the scantly clad girls with their sexual poses? It isn't just Penney's, it is society, I expect others to follow unless Christians can show them we are offended and will stop giving them our business.

I agree. I wrote them an email when this all first started and let them know I would not shop with them unless they repented.

I have to admit I really struggle with this whole issue as well. Probably 100% of my clothes come from JC Penny because unlike a lot of stores they have a good selection of Big and Tall clothing that is good quality and fairly inexpensive. I've looked elsewhere but it seems everywhere else will end up costing double which puts a strain on finances. I'm just hoping this all gets settled before I need to buy clothing again.
