I used to watch Rev JR Church when I was growing up in Oklahoma. At that time he was going through the Psalms proving that Christ would return in 1988.

Here is part of a sermon by David Curtis:

The beast of Revelation is none other than Lucious Domisus Ahinabarbus, who is better known by his adoptive name Nero Claudius Caesar. He is the only man who fits the bill as the specific and personal expression of the beast. Let us look at his qualifications.
The beast is identified by the number 666. In the ancient days alphabets served a two-fold purpose. Their first and foremost purpose was, of course, their service as letters. But letters were also assigned numerical values and thus served as numerals. The most familiar example of this dual function of alphabets can be found in the Roman numeral system. The Greek and Hebrew languages operated similarly. Nero Caesar, if spelled according to a Hebrew spelling (John and most of first century Christians were of Hebrew extraction) gives us precisely the value 666. Is it not remarkable that this most relevant emperor, who lived while those seven churches lived, and lived while John wrote, has a name that fits precisely the required sum? Is this a sheer coincidence, or an historical accident? Remember audience relevance. What would have been the purpose of frustrating readers for two millennia who could not possibly identify a twentieth-century (or later) beast? Isn't it far more reasonable to assume that John's original readers understood him very well in his identification of the beast?
The character of the beast qualifies Nero for this role. He possessed a bestial nature. Nero often acted in horrible viciousness. According to Suetonius, Nero was a sodomite who is said to have castrated a boy named Sporus and married him. He enjoyed homosexual rape and torture. He killed his parents, brother, wife, aunt, and many others close to him. He so prostituted his own chastity that after defiling almost every part of his body, he at last devised a kind of game: covered with the skin of some wild animal, he was let loose from a cage and attacked the private parts of men and women, who were bound at stakes.
Revelation 13:7 speaks of the power given to the beast to make war with the saints. Nero was the first of the imperial authorities to persecute Christianity. Tacitus records the scene in Rome when the persecution of Christians broke out: "And their death was aggravated with mockeries, insomuch that, wrapped in the hides of wild beasts, they were torn to pieces by dogs, or fastened to crosses to be set on fire, that when the darkness fell they might be burned to illuminate the night." Revelation 13:5 says that the beast would continue 42 months. The Neronic persecution was instituted in 64 AD and lasted until his death in June 68 AD, which is three and a half years, or 42 months. Nero fits the bill for the role of the beast.
The beast is to die by a sword according to Revelation 13: 10 & 14. Do you know how Nero died? According to Suetonius, he "drove a dagger into his throat, aided by Epaphroditus, his private secretary." Nero killed with the sword and was killed by the sword.
Revelation 17:3 tells us that the beast is red. The red color may be indicative of the bloodshed caused by the beast. But Suetonius writes of the legend associated with Nero's ancestral parentage, which explains why he had a red beard.
The beast's number is 666; in Hebrew, Nero's name adds up to 666. The beast is an awful character; Nero had a beastly character. The beast made war with the saints for 42 months; Nero persecuted Christians for three and a half years. The beast dies by the sword; Nero killed himself with a dagger. The beast is red; Nero had a red beard, which was very unusual in those times. Evidently the beast of Revelation is Nero. Remember, John told his readers, those first century Christians who lived in Asia Minor, that these things were to "shortly come to pass." We, twentieth-century Christians are not to be looking for some terrible beast to arise and bring great tribulation to believers, this has already happened during the time of Nero and the first-century Christians.

You know I just don't understand what is going on here. I have been accused of being someone else, then I hear responses about Benny Hinn rather than a serious response to Jack Van Impe's newsletter.

Then people attack JR Church and Jack Van Impe and then I'm accused of being a troll delusional and unchrist like. How about you think for a moment how you would feel if these accusations were being dumped on you.

I checked google for Scott Branson and found some old links to his old pages. The links have simular titles so someone may have promoted these pages under that name. However that is all I could find. There is almost nothing on the Internet about Scott Branson. If he is the same person promoting these new pages without using his name then maybe there is some truth in BrianT allegations.

But I have no way of knowing that for sure, but what I do know is the pages I have read on these gematria codes are legit and have a long history before Scott Branson, Jack Van Impe or JR Church. So based on my research I will not so quickly judge the message just because some messenger from the past was not perfect. If you're going to accuse me of being a troll or delusional don't you think you ought to make sure first. Go read up on this information and quit slinging all this hate.

I will be waiting to hear comments on the contents of Jack Van Impe's newsletter. I'm not intrested in more mud slinging about Jack, Benny or JR.

If thats all you want to do is mud sling then I will let you all do it. But I will have no more part in it.

Then who are you? And remember what the Bible says about lying. ;)

Van Impe's endorsement does not deserve a serious response.

Is the "homepage" in your profile not your own? If it is not your's, why are you calling it your homepage? It is Scott Branson's page.

Gematria comes in many forms. This particular form is Scott Branson's creation.

OK, here ya go: Van Impe should know better than to promote numerology.

Brian you attack me accuse me and slander me and then because of that others mock me. Then you have the nerve to ask me who I am and expect me to just jump at your command like I was sitting in court on trial. My sign up information is private and the moderator here has it. I told you I am not Scott Branson. I'm not going to fax you my resume after the way I've been treated here.

As far as the Scott Branson being the creator of these codes that is pure rubbish, I heard about these codes 35 years ago.

I also went looking for other pages these codes using the keywords A=6 B=12 C=18 666 on google and I got quite a shock. It seems there are at least 150 pages in about 7 languages about these codes. Some are attacking it, some are endorsing it but not one of them has named Scott Branson as the original author. So Brian I think you are quite mistaken about Scott Branson being the author.

I also found an old JVI thread about the English codes when Jack Van Impe was still against it. It the first link below.

    Jesusmyfriend said,

"By the way Benny Hinn has not made a false prophecy for almost ten years."

For someone who believes in numerology you sure don't count too well, do you.

This thread is funnier that anything in the humor section.

    Of course.

Actually, you may be right. When I first encountered you (whoops, I mean Scott), he claimed to be the author of them. Now that I think about it, you (I mean Scott) may have been outright lying, and I guess I should not be surprised if this is the case. In any event, the software on the site you have as *your* homepage (which is Scott's homepage) was written (or at least contracted out) by Scott. At first, he approached me to write the software for him. Initially I thought it might be sort of interesting, but I later decided I wanted no part of his numerology endeavor, so I turned him down. Scott's later actions clearly revealed I made the right decision.

I know you have "Baptist" listed in your profile, but do you realize you're in actually in a Baptist forum? How many *Baptists* (nay, any brand of Christian) that are into numerology AND know this much detail about the "English codes" AND extol Benny Hinn AND strenuously arguing against the cessation of the sign and prophetic spiritual gifts AND are extremely "shy" when it comes to revealing their identity AND gets extremely verbally abusive when challenged AND posts exactly like you have been doing? The number is extremely low. I know of only one other, and his name is Scott Branson. If you're not him, you're his virtual identical twin. [IMG]

First, look at the very first post you made on the Baptist Board:
The Jesus Codes, - Not the Torah ELS Codes of TBN

Then, see if any of the following look familiar:

Check out the last two posts on this link:
    Preaching Peace Forum (now extinct)

Another of Scott's feigns, under a different name:
    Armageddon Online Forum (also extinct)

Yet another, see the last three posts:
    End TimeZ WarriorZ

    Oh looky, another:
    ETIC Forums

And another, one of his more common usernames:
Ohio Paranormal Investigation Network Message Board
    Surfing The Apocalypse
Dominion Group - Survival & Preparedness Forum

Also, thanks to web archiving technology:
    Scott's OLD discussion forum
archive of "Jesusmyfriend"'s website, which says it belongs to Scott Branson
    archived after some changes
    archived after more changes
archive of the Bible codes page - be sure to check the name splashed all over the bottom of the page. [IMG]

I can provide dozens more. Sorry Scott/GracePlace/GrandFatherClock/Apostacybuster/Jesusmyfriend/etc, but the gig is up. Perhaps if you spammed less often, it would be harder to track you. ;)

Do every one hear a favor and leave. Take your numerology and your false prophets, Benny Hinn, with you.

Terry do not send me PM's like this.

    To BrianT

OK so the guy your talking about is real but that does not prove he is the author of these codes. The Benny Hinn page is linked as my home page because I'm a supporter of Benny Hinn. I personally do not have my own homepage and my profile setting does not allow me to change it to say recommended webpage.

The gig is up Brian? I think your a little off. Apostacybuster, Grand father clock so what? I sure would like to see this so called false prophecy of Scott Branson you keep talking about.
It seems that this guy has completly twisted your brain that anyone who promotes these codes automatically gets branded as him.

You can try to degrade the merit of these codes with your false accustions all you want but your wrong. Ya know I could careless about what problems you had with Scott Branson. I have already did my research on these codes and know they are the truth. There are 150 plus websites on these codes, none of which has Scott Branson's name on them. If Scott Branson is the original author we didn't they quote him?

Since your so twisted about this guy why don't you post what he said that was so terrible. I mean the actual conversation. Might as well no one is going to discuss the original topic of this thread anyway.

We can call it mud slinging thread 101. Get the thread you have been talking about and post it, I really want to read it. I mean if this guy was so bad someone must have a copy.

You know, I really wouldn't have expected you to stick around after you'd been found out, but I suppose if you actually buy into the trash you post here....you probably actually think your fooling people.

btw, our justice system has a word for Word of Faiths doctrine: Fraud

    Another Excerpt:

IMPORTANT NOTE: Jesus Christ makes the final uncovering and revealing of the Antichrist, it cannot be done by the codes alone. The Codes are only intended to help as a research tool. It's use is only for watch, wait and see. It's a preparation tool only. Jesus gives the final confirmation by the Power of His Holy Spirit and The Word of God.

DO NOT ACCUSE any world leader or person of being the Antichrist. Many real names will calculate to 666 by the A=6 B=12 C=18 alphabet key. So will many business names, groups. Both Christian and secular. DO NOT MISUSE this. There are many other scriptures that must be taken into account before one can determine if the antichrist is being uncovered. One more note about misuse, DO NOT USE the witchcraft total to attack those in Wicca, paganism or the like. Love them in prayer, Jesus died for every one of them regardless if they believe or not. The least we can do is love them as Jesus commanded and have faith Jesus will bring them in through Love.

Been found out? What part of my previous replies did you fail to read? Personally I think you are all making yourselves look foolish and making charismatics look good in the process. You all look like a bunch of modern day pharisees to me.

But if that's what you want to do fine, we can bump this thread to the top every day until it reaches reply number 2,000

Slander away I'm convinced nothing I say will change your mind anyway so we might as well continue with making sure no one who reads this thread ever become baptists.

Do you all even realize how you all look from my point of view? If I did not know where I was I would swear I was reading the rantings of people who forgot their meds before returning to their cells.

You really need to take a step back and look at this from the point of view of a new viewer and consider what they must be thinking. Do you think they are saying yeah get him or rather what's the problem here he said he was not Scott Branson are they deaf? I guess that would be keyboard deaf. LOL

I have said two or three times now that I'm not Scott Branson. It's like you all want someone to be Scott Branson so you can vent. I'll tell you what, I'll be Benny Hinn if you want. Then you can vent some more and make yourselves all powerful Baptists. You guys are way past making me angry, I can only laugh now because it is obvious to me that most involved in this thread are nothing more than spoiled children. I realize now you can't help it so it's pointless to be mad at you all.

Moderator please don't lock this thread before Brian posts that conversation he has been talking about. Gee if I'm going to be Scott Branson's whipping post I would at least like to see what the heck he said.

But actually bro, or sis, if you really take what you type seriously (which I realize there is a slim chance that is the case) you have our heartfelt pity. You have bought into lies, very horrible rotten lies spun to relieve you of the money in your wallet.

That is why none of us here takes it seriously. We realize how much of a lie all this is. It glares at us plain as day. If you really do take this stuff seriously, and are willing to give us a chance with an open and humble heart to learn what we know, I have no doubt that everyone here will humbly show you (without personally attacking you as you are the victim, not the enemy) what is wrong with the Word of Faith cult, and why it really is fraud. Anyone who is willing to humbly learn truth is treated with great respect and anyone who has been decieved by a false prophet (or 2) has our heartfelt sympathy as they make their way to learning truth.

But if you are only willing to continue in a pattern of manipulation (going back and forth from verbal assualt to "woe is me" posts), it truly is best for you not to post here, because your not going to get what your looking for.

I can't figure out why anyone would want to defend Benny Hinn. Anyone who scams millions for an orphanage in Mexico, then turns around and spends those millions on a his own home in California is nothing more than a scam artist.

Bach doesn't use the "code" you're passing off here. The musical number system has to do with placement of pitch on a measure. It doesn't "replace" a letter with a number.

Man when Hubert Horatio Humphrey died, I had to change my whole theology.

"H" is the 6th letter of the old Hebrew alphabet and so HHH = 666.

Then he died. Had to change everything. Grrr.

Whoever said that "numbers never lie" lied.

You can manipulate numbers in so many ways it can make your head spin--which is what Jack Van Impe's head has been doing for years.

P.S. Who is BB member #666?
