NBC airs the show, so I'd say they do the final editing.

NO!! An NBC affiliate may air the show - but as Squire said "And Jeopardy is a syndicated show these days."
AS I mentioned before - one of the local stations that airs Jeopardy is an NBC affiliate and the other some 50 miles away -
is a Fox affiliate. The show runs in the 7-8 time slot -EDT (and most stations also air Wheel of Forunate) that time is reserved for the affiliates.

far as I know, EVERYONE who normally runs it, ran that eppy. But SOMEBODY is responsible for editing the eppys that they all run, making a "final edition" of it.. Local affiliates rarely see a show aheada time.

Yes you are correct - SOMEONE is responsible - and that would be someone at SONY TELEVISION.
AND it could be that the editor did not see a problem with it! -- often those episodes are videotaped several weeks before airing.
Actually - they do 5 episodes per day for 5 days = 5 weeks - Thus Alex only worked 1 week per month - (another week they do Wheel of Fortunate)
So they have plenty of time to edit.
and I would assume that the show is only sent to local stations (via satellite) on the day of airing.

Seems as if whoever it is that makes the decisions made the RIGHT one to just ignore the jive talk. The protesters can't do anything about it anyway !
