I disagree. "For whom did Christ die" is the central theme of the question. And that brings us to "What, exactly, did the Atonement accomplish?"

So, why did you not that kept your heart not as hard as others? You keep posting verses. Now, exegete them. Why was your heart not harder than John, Mary, Leroy, Bubba, Henry, Ben, &c.

Nothing God inherently has in us a heart for Him as we are made in His image, fallen spiritually which total depravity but Zechariah 7:12 says that men harden their hearts to the word, that is those like the Pharisee who are puffed up with pride

You need to clean this up please.

By the way, you keep mentioning your heart. Jeremiah 17:9?

IT....you don't think that a proper understanding of the nature and purpose of the atonement and the nature of sin is vital before entering into the doctrine of the extent of the atonement?

I would very much like to know, if you don't mind, the rationale behind your disagreement. If someone does not believe that Jesus' death was primarily to pay the price for the sinful acts of sinful people then the doctrine of Limited Atonement (...to clarify, TC.....the doctrine that Jesus died only for the transgressions committed...past, present, and future...of elect persons..) does not seem to me to be make sense. I would appreciate you explaining how it would fit into those types of views.

You want rationale while you go around and thumb up persons posts that overlook lies, deceit, name calling all the while attacking another (namely me) for an illustration, and show your support for it? Really? Gnat? Camel?

You have other things to worry about my friend, and besides that TCassidy already addressed what I saw.

    He used the word 'inherently'.

Adam was the only one who had a heart that was 'inherently' for God. After the fall, man's heart became corrupted and was desirious for everything but God. The heart is desperately wicked, who can know it? But this corrupted, wicked heart is 'inherently' for Him? Yah!!! Riiiiiiiight!!!

If you are talking about the "naming names" thread, I gave your post a "like" because I thought you made a good point. I forgave you a long time ago, brother.

Then later on you denied this and claimed your heart is pure and is why you chose God. You're in error and are all over the place and it isn't because you're on your phone.

Like Barry Sanders said 'Come on, man!!!!!'

That is not what I was referring to. It was your support of another who is taking me to task over an illustration I gave while giving a moderator a free pass to call me blasphemous, denying God among other things.

You gave this admin 'likes' over this.

[snipped - provocative and off topic statement]

As far as you forgiving me for something that is not even in this discussion at all is beside the point and I have no clue what I even needed your forgiveness for. It is what you are liking now and it is that another allows this behavior. You agree to it.

I did not see a post reported for calling you blasphemous. If you will report it I will take a look at it.

I don't read every post in every thread in every forum. I have a life. :)

Perhaps the OP should be re-titled to:
'Jesus is the Savior of all that have pure hearts'

You didn't see it? It was in the posts you have taken me to task over for my illustration.

    Yet, you didn't see it?

    Interesting indeed.

And you want me to report it? No thanks, I have a paper shredder too. Roflmao BiggrinSmile;)RoflmaoBiggrinLaugh

Yes. If you do not report it there is nothing I can do. It is up to you. Either report it and let the Moderators and Administrators handle it or drop it.

I have no idea what you are talking about. I don't put that much stock in ratings. I saw something I must have liked or found amusing and hit the button I guess.
