Jesus, pre-baptism????

I have a question that I want an answer to. Last night, I was listening to Bro. John MacArthur, and he stated that Jesus' baptism was a corination(sp?) and that He could not do any miracles prior to this Event. The question I have is this; wouldn't this have made Him less than God if He could not do these prior to being baptized? Jesus at the age of twelve, told Joseph and Mary that He needed to be about His Father's business.

I see the baptism as a sign to John that He was indeed the Messiah that had been preached about throughout the whole OT. What say ye??

It's not worded very well.
His baptism was symbolic of the beginning of his ministry.
He could have done miracles before then but it was not His Father's will. He came to do His Father's will, and as God the Son submitted to Him in all things. It is not that He couldn't do miracles; it was not His will to do miracles before His baptism. His baptism signified the beginning of his ministry.

I see His baptism as telling John the Baptist that He was/is indeed the Messiah that had been foretold. Not to make Him the Messiah, but because He was/is the Messiah.

John"s baptism was a baptism of repentance.Jesus did not have any sin to repent of.....but as Mediator...and Federal head of His sheep he identified with them...to fulfill all righteousness.

The Father publicly identifies Him as the full final Prophet heb1 1-3...and The true Israel...The Covenant Son.....Ex.4:22......so now the miracles and signs will follow as in the first Exodus.

So, I don't not think He emptied Himself, but He became a little lower than the angels, in that He tasted death. But, then He was exalted above everyone when He was resurrected and ascended back to the Father, being set on the right hand of God on the throne.
