I heard this song on Christian radio and the thought never crossed by mind she was trying to explain the Gospel.

The song had an impact on me because we were in a similar situation on black ice and I called out to Jesus to save us.
And He did…I’ll never forget it. [IMG]

I haven't heard it yet I've been listening to my CD's and not the radio too much. Looks good though. [IMG]
Like others have said, it's not meant to present the Gospel but hopefully it will get people to thinking about Jesus.

You can't and don't know that it won't have the same impact if it was on a gospel album. With this playing on country stations more people are probably hearing it too.
It's amazing the things God uses to bring us to Him, or set our minds on Him, including music.

I wish you could spread your wisdom to the rest of Christianity out there. [IMG]

It is obviously clear this song isn't a song about salvation, but one about one who is ALREADY SAVED. A saved person, who has been trying to do things on her own, not trusting God so she she is at a point in her life where she ask Jesus to take over in the position he should have always been in the first place.

All the talk of a song leading to death is pointless. It is just a song. A stupid song, mind you, but a song nonetheless.

Any mother who has kids in her car and is skidding out of control better do her best to drive the car and not let go of the wheel.

    I think so, too Frenchy...

I have not heard the song. So, I can't say definitively. (The phrasing of a song can tell a lot about it's intent.)

As for some of the other songs someone mentioned she talks about Real Life, cheating husbands, boyfriends, etc..

The question is this, is she warning or is she proposing these things?

Lastly, with all the C&W artists (and listeners) that started out as church goers they don't need
the whole gospel laid out plain in a song for the Holy Spirit to use it to draw them home again...

In this regard she may be doing more good than 100 Christian (acceptable) Artists because her music is going where the others are not invited...

    Someone mentioned her testimony...

*Very* important issue... Is it Godly, Does she live it?

If the preacher can preach explicitly about morality Sunday Morning...

Why can't a saved C&W artist do the same in their music?

What? you have to be licensed and have a church pulpit to warn against sin?

As I said though, not being a C&W enthusiast, it all hinges on what her testimony is and whether she really lives it or not...

Far too many start out with strong testimonies then get compromised by the "business"...

    BTW: I like the lyrics...

Frenchy, I am with you on the first two, Mandesa is brilliant and Taylor is a great entertainer.

Well, PJ, you didn't miss anything. It was an horrible show last night. Who gets booted tonight is a wild card. The Pickler girl did sing country style last night, but the judges were mixed about her performance.

My rule of thumb is simple. If I can't understand the words they are trying to sing, they can't sing. I will say this for a lot of country music, I do understand what they are saying,,,except some of the newer performers..they seem to slur everything and run sentences together.

    Cheers,

    Jim

This is a good song. I'm glad it's getting airtime on secular Country stations.

I think we should all be debating the second verse in light of the "Lordship Salvation" vs. "Absolutely Free" debate. ;)

Also, would now be a bad time to bring up the fact that Selah has done a cover version of Rascal Flats' "God Blessed the Broken Road."
